Great experience. We have stayed in many hotels, motels and have had many great locations over the years. We would rate Seascape Lodge as one of the best ever. This time we only stayed one night but we will become a regular from now on. Stephan is a great host and nothing is too much trouble.to him. Once the silly season is over we will be back. 5 Stars from us!

On-site hosts Liz and Kenny were friendly and helpful without being at all intrusive. The cottage setting is so pretty that I think I could have happily sat on the balcony all day had they not recommended nearby beaches. I appreciated the plunger coffee and continental breakfast provisions left in the cottage. It was also really clean and fresh with a comfortable bed.

Newly refurbished, spacious, spotlessly clean units with comfortable beds and lovely bedding and towels. Shower was very good and unit was equipped with everything we needed. There were lots of thoughtful touches and the lady who checked us in and out was absolutely lovely. Excellent value for money - we would recommend Magnolia Court to anyone. PS We went to the Deluxe Theatre, a volunteer-run cinema in town, and it was delightful.

Location …. 5 minutes to get onto a safe swimming sandy beach. Quiet and peaceful surroundings with only the sound of the waves hitting the shore. Staff…. Truly exceptional attention to detail and so very helpful and friendly. Decor….. a home from home - muted colours and tones to echo the sea. Sculptures and beautiful artwork kept a sense of calm and place. Curtains lined to keep out sunlight which meant a little lie in. Bed….blissfully comfortable with nice bedlinen. Bathroom…sumptuous towels which were thoughtfully changed every couple of days. Great water pressure in the showers. Hot Tub…. With salts (environmentally friendly) overlooking the beach. Infra Red Sauna….. great to be able to use and enjoy. Smart TV and WiFi. Kitchen…beautifully appointed with top quality sets of pots, pans, glasses, crockery and cutlery. It was a joy to cook and eat onsite. Balconies…2 balconies were marvellous when more shade was needed.

Despite recent news coverage Ōpōtiki is an idyllic location. It has most amenities, the locals are great. Small town shopping as expected but is the gateway to the East Coast with scenery to die for, fishing and swimming or just time out at the beach along this coastal stretch.

Opotiki is a very quiet and sleepy town.

Opotiki is a very quiet and sleepy town. There are just a few restaurants. They closed early. There is however a good supermarket not too far, I think it’s called Nat’s. Good to get your supplies for meals. We didn’t stay long but didn’t see much to do. But please refer to the official guides as I’m sure you might find something that we missed. We are an elderly couple, so we do not look for extreme sports or vigorous hikes.

Kaipai Takeaway Shop in town was very yummy an best burger ive tasted for a while also liked the Pavlova which i brought 2 of as they were homemade an they were lovely, Chemist was friendly an helpful place so was the Maori shop kool friendly helpful lady an 2nd hand clothing shop the lady in there she was out of this world you could yak as if you were bestmates from wayback

I got to meet the locals and had an insight into their world. They were friendly and helpful. The area is beautiful and the weather was so lovely it made work a pleasure. I enjoyed the best most fluffiest pancakes at the Hot Bread Cafe. I highly recommend. Taking my dog to each beach along my travels ment he really got a good workout. Walking off the delicious lunch with a colleague/friend along one of the many beaches was invigorating.

Location for Opotiki is excellent being close enough to the shopping area and a lovely cafe across the road for breakfast. The staff were friendly and inviting and made us feel welcome from the start.
