The nice person who checked us in. She did not mind that we where a bit early. Clean room and bathroom. The bed was nice and soft. There was electrical kitchen material so you could make your own dinner. Nice and quit en nearby the ferry and city centre.

This is the hotel where you feel like at home from the first step. Elisabeth welcomed us with a glass of wine and some cheese. The room reminds the bedroom in the palace. Everything is in a very good taste and quality. Lovely small hotel. Biggest asset of this place is staff. Elisabeth takes care of you from entry till departure. From the very first moment, we felt incredibly welcome here. Stefan and Michelle run this place with such heart and their home is absolutely wonderful, and the surroundings, including the garden are simply stunning. Their dog is incredibly friendly, adding to the warm atmosphere. The ambiance, decor, and all the thoughtful amenities make it a truly luxurious place, deserving of high praise. It’s definitely one of the most beautiful places I’ve ever stayed at, and I highly recommend it!

Smooth ferry ride and beautiful views. Cute, peaceful and walkable town. Enjoyed dinners at Thirsty Pig and Pinch of Spice. Views from Marina a dream. Easy hikes at Harborview track and Bob's Bay. Nice place to relax before heading onto Marlborough Sounds. Had one overcast/rainy afternoon but otherwise good weather in November.

We had only 1 night in Picton because the road had been cut...

We had only 1 night in Picton because the road had been cut by wild weather and bushfires. No reduction in price was offered. We had hoped to spend a day in Nelson, but did not have time. The Picton area is very picturesque, and well worth visiting.

Picton is a beautiful place on a sunny day or the warmer months. There's plenty to do if you like the outdoors. It's very kid friendly with a great wee water park and playground. It's easily walkable with some great restaurants and Cafe's. If your a pizza fan then Scoozi is a must.

We were there for the annual Marina 2 Marina race which is a fun event to take part in. Picton is a nice place to visit so not just the town where you get the ferry to Wellington - it's way more than that! Good range of shops and restaurants to look at, great playground on the foreshore for the kids and a nice place to have lunch and enjoy the stunning view of the harbour. Plenty of boat cruise options that take you around the sounds and some good walks to do around the area.

Must visit the beautiful Raukura Gallery, amazing artwork and NZ keepsakes to take home! Super helpful and friendly owner in Ruth too... nothing is too much of a problem for her. Very knowledgable too.

While many will only see Picton as a quick stopover between...

While many will only see Picton as a quick stopover between the North and South Islands it is really worth spending a little more time there. It is a lovely little town with great scenery, wonderful access to Queen Charlotte Sound and good food, shopping and friendly people.

Plenty of carparks outside the hotel, and very close to main-street Picton. We could not get a harbour view, but our ground floor room was easily accessible, and had a pleasant outlook onto the grounds, which were lit with feature lights. Nicely appointed, comfortable rooms. Storage for two bags, which is rare. Plenty of safe opening windows to cool down the room.

Fantastic backpacker hostel if you are backpacking in New Zealand. Very cheap and you can meet a lot of people. Also a nice cosy place and the staff are very helpful. The selfmade free dessert on 7pm is a very sweet touch too.
