Picton is a beautiful place on a sunny day or the warmer months. There's plenty to do if you like the outdoors. It's very kid friendly with a great wee water park and playground. It's easily walkable with some great restaurants and Cafe's. If your a pizza fan then Scoozi is a must.

We were there for the annual Marina 2 Marina race which is a fun event to take part in. Picton is a nice place to visit so not just the town where you get the ferry to Wellington - it's way more than that! Good range of shops and restaurants to look at, great playground on the foreshore for the kids and a nice place to have lunch and enjoy the stunning view of the harbour. Plenty of boat cruise options that take you around the sounds and some good walks to do around the area.

Stunning views down the harbour and plenty of eateries and accommodation options. We ate at Cortado twice as we could take our Labrador inside & they had a fab dog menu! A beautiful drive across to Anakiwa. We’ll definately stay longer next time.

Picton is a lovely place to spend a few days.. or explore further. Irish pub up the road was good for a drink. Mostly did our own cooking but nice cafes around the corner for lunch. Handy bus stop across the road. Went to Blenheim for a day ( check the timetable.. doesn’t go every day) Walked to Waikawa Bay and back. Edwin Fox museum worth going to as was the Mail Run cruise. We stayed for 3 nights… arriving from Wellington by ferry… and leaving by bus for Christchurch.

Host very welcoming. Really helpful re washing facilities. Showed me round the b&b straight away. Always asked how my day went. Gave me a hug goodbye. Her mum so friendly at breakfast, taking pride in her vast display of fruit on offer. Lovely bread toasted (no cheap bread that I got in Auckland in a 5star hotel). Location fabulous. Room small but lovely and cosy and who needs a big room when you're out all day. Being so cosy helped me sleep like a log, I'm positive. Great place to stay. I'd come again.

The hotel was lovely, great pool, great location and very friendly staff, the only downside is best not to choose the standard rooms which face the noisy road.
