Coming from Cebu City, there is a striking difference between the people as well as the architecture. We went in Mid May and the town was not overrun with tourists. So it was easy to do the sightseeing. Most things are close by and fairly much in walking distance - if it is not too hot for you. Seeing architecture and their development from hispanic to American to modern style was interesting. Vigan is a nice, small, historical, Spanish influenced town with very nice shops, restaurants, and architecturally pleasing structures. They have a nearby airport which offers flights to Manila, and the Partas bus terminal is only a 5 minute trike ride from the town square area; you can pretty much get anywhere by trike for only 50-100 php. The nearest beach, Santa Catalina, is only about a 10-12 minute trike ride from downtown Vigan; the beach area is underdeveloped but the sunset is still beautiful!Guest review byScottyUnited States - 10.0

it's so amazing the government (city and municipal) have maintained it's legacy, structures and history. there is a story that visitors learned from it's museum and buildings. I like Vigan for it's old world appeal especially at the very popular Calle Crisologo. I also like the friendliness of the people, the amazing plazas and the choices of restaurants available. Vigan has its own very unique charm and despite not being as modern as some of the more developed cities in the Philippines, it is just as, if not more interesting. The room given to us was clean and complete with the things we need. We're glad that kitchen, dinnerwares and cutleries are available in the room. The location is perfect, walking distance from Calle Crisologo and a few minutes drive to Vigan Market where you can buy bagnet and vigan longganisa for a cheaper price.
