huge range of facilities, the bedrooms were so comfortable and spacious. staff were very accommodating. there’s many activities available to book at the hotel and it’s only a short drive from Funchal. we used bolt to get taxis which were about €13 to Funchal. we also had the hotel book us taxis some times which they were easily able to accommodate. can’t recommend this place enough, we are already planning a return visit.

I liked everything, the reception staff is very polite and kind, they will always help and answer, the breakfasts are excellent, the location of the hotel is good, the hotel itself is beautiful, lots of greenery, beautiful plants, flowers and trees, thanks to each employee for their hospitality, for their work and responsiveness, we didn’t want to leave you, we will definitely come back again!

The place is in an ideal location, not far from the centre, the beach, Christo Rei statue. Breakfast is fine, plenty of food to choose from. There are nice facilities: indoor and outdoor pool, table tennis, beautifuly garden. There is heating in the rooms for colder days.

Goretti and Mauricio were great hosts, very responsive and friendly. They shared some of their home grown dragonfruit and Madeira wine with us on arrival and gave us lots of local travel tips. Room was very clean and recently renovated. Good value for money. Parking on site with enough space to manoeuvre. Full shared kitchen available.

We were only staying in Caniço, we went there to visit...

We were only staying in Caniço, we went there to visit Madeira and really enjoyed it. It's green and beautiful, people are very nice and food is excellent. I would definitely recommend renting a car with a powerful engine as the island has lots of steep roads.

All of Madeira island is mountainous therefore it would be advisable to rent a car on the island to get around. There was a very good bakery and cafe in the village and a small grocery for essentials. The Pingo Doce & Contintente are a short drive up the mountain for anything else you would need.

Canico location is very good.

Canico location is very good. Just the right distance from airport and main town of Funchal. Hotel locations are very nice along seaside, and accessible to main road going to other shops with various restaurants.

Canico is Funchal's quiet neighbour.

Canico is Funchal's quiet neighbour. It is on the main bus route into Funchal (the 155) from where you can find busses to most places on the island. There is a nice area by the water with cafes, restaurants and places to sit in the sunshine.

Vanico doesn't really have much to offer.....too far to walk to the sea. Generally very built up. Didn't find anywhere to eat to compare with the hotel. Good bus to Funchal which follows the old coast road with impressive views as you get close to Funchal

Small town so little nightlife.

Small town so little nightlife. Good bus links into Funchal and down to Canico de Baixo. Good restaurants, especially La Terresa. Two supermarkets and many cafes. Prices lower than in Funchal. Quinta Splendida gardens open to non residents for 4 euros. Lovely place to sit and relax. Not a tourist hotspot so locals go about their daily life. Nice to see the real culture.

Location is good, easy to find and not far from Funchal, airport etc. Nice staff at the lobby. Economical and good enough for staying during the last days before leaving Madeira from the airport. Good "chocolate com leite" at the restaurant... While you stay here, the area around the Christ statue in Garajau (Miradouro do Cristo Rei) is definitely worth to visit.

Perfect base place to explore Madeira Convenient location close to the motorway, 10 minutes from Funchal, 2 minutes from the Garajau Beach, close to a couple of supermarkets and concenience stores Spacious, clean, incredibly well equipped appartment. Fitted with ammenities and convenience (coffee, soap for washer and dishwasher, basic kitcjen ingredients, etc)

-Very spacious and modern room with the ocean view -Nice pool area -Close to the airport -Private beach (rock). Was good to enter the water, but not cosy to chill at the beach. If you travel with kids, this typical for Madeira beach will not be nice -Very quite atmosphere, no loud music or people

Great place to stay during the traveling. Really enjoyed the pool. Rooms were nice nice and the location was good. There were some very good cafes and restaurants nearby. Would definitely stay there again, if ever in Madeira again.
