A cute and unique property. The property had everything we needed for a short stay. The views around the property are amazing. Very comfortable deck chairs to sit outside. We received a very warm welcome from our hosts on the day. The breakfast was amazing lots of fruit and bread and croissants delivered on the morning.

From the moment we arrived, it was obvious we were going to enjoy being here. In fact, in the end, we spent a lot of time in the house simply because it's such a lovely place to be. Quiet neighbourhood, breathtaking view from the balcony, extremely comfortable beds, and a properly equipped kitchen. Susana, our host, has thought of everything but is always open to new ideas!

The whole experience was much better thanks to the hospitality of the manager (José) and the owner (Joāo) They took care of things and kept asking questions to customise my experience at the place. so with a lovely accommodation with breathtaking 180 degree view and such cozy, beautiful city I exceeded my expectations about Penacova. You could be at Swiss alps, such high hills and astonishing valleys finishing at Montego River. I will come back again and staying at the same accomodation !

A sleepy little town that is all but closed up on Sundays.

A sleepy little town that is all but closed up on Sundays. There is a grocery store in the town of Penacova and thankfully it is open on Sundays. Strongly recommend that you bring a car if you plan to wander around.

The views from the hilltop where the town centre is situated...

The views from the hilltop where the town centre is situated are fabulous. There isn’t a lot to do in the town but there are some good facilities eg Cota restaurant and Cafe Turismo. In the warmer weather the river beach is an asset. If you are looking for a quiet place off the beaten track Penacova is for you.

Charming house with all amenities in a beautiful setting...

Charming house with all amenities in a beautiful setting with abundant nature. We received a warm welcome from Luisa and Pedro, with whom we took a lovely walk in the immediate vicinity to an original watermill and windmills. Coimbra and the ocean are a short drive away.

It's a very beautiful area of the country.

It's a very beautiful area of the country. The Mondego River is always an excellent choice for relaxation. Penacova has everything and is very well located with an incredible landscape; it's worth visiting the windmills of Atalhada.

I loved the natural surroundings, far from the hustle and bustle of the city and the traffic. Ideal if you enjoy hiking, walking, tranquility, and the sound of birds. It's also close to cities like Coimbra and Aveiro if you'd like to do some sightseeing.
