There is no way that there is a better place to stay in Velas than this beautiful house with amazing views straight to Pico Island. The handover keys was perfect even though our flight was delayed by 8h. The house has everything you need (well, missed some olive oil for cooking hahaha). Room are spacious, living room is huge and the terrace with the views and the barbecue are just perfect. The house is a 1min drive to the main supermarket in Sao Jorge and parking is right outside the house. House is big enough to host 7 people with plenty of space. I really find hard to believe that there is a better place in Velas!!! And the biggest thumbs up for our hosts, because we had a ferry late at night and we could check out late afternoon, that was a huge life saver. Really appreciated.

We stayed in apartment E, which was more beautiful than in the pictures. There is no aircon but we asked for a fan and got one so it was good. The bed could be a bit more modern. This apartment kans a large Balcony and the view is stunning. Antonio is a great host and veri helpful.

Nice small hotel, reception is open. Staff is very nice. Nearby you find bars and restaurants, 2 minutes walk from main square, 5 minutes walk from marina. Room was small, but very clean and sufficient and with windows. Bathroom was OK, wi-fi was working OK. Cozy place when you stay in Velas. Free street parking is available. I would stay here again if in Velas!

A lovely modern and comfortable apartment with good facilities including washing machine.Great view of bay from balcony.Although no air conditioning the posh electric shutters made a big difference in terms of heat.Good communication from.point of booking.Fair amount of information provided re taxi fares etc.Lovely quiet location ,not far from natural swimming pools. Supermarket about 8 mins away most restaurants at least 5 mins more.

Amazing location, the views were incredible. so peaceful. The cabin was simple but perfect, you can just about see both sunrise and sunset over Pico. Bed was very comfortable and it was great having a washing machine. The host even brought a basket of bread, butter, coffee, etc on the first day. It's worth bringing some supplies if you want to stay in, but there's a good mini mart in walking distance if you need things.

Velas was a nice quite town. There is lots to see and do.

Velas was a nice quite town. There is lots to see and do. Great hotels and friendly staff. There is a "pool" downtown at the seawall within the ocean due to rocks that have been placed, so you can swim. They have a stage where artists and singers can perform. Lots of cute shops with great merchansie to purchase, with easy streets to walk through. Lots of cobbled stones, so wear comfortable shoes. Great restaurants down cute little streets and lots of friendly people who want to help you regardless if you can speak portuguese or not.

The apartment was really modern compared to most places in the Azores. Great view with a large covered patio with a bbq which included charcoal and wood. There is a washer located on the covered patio. The rooms were spacious and all had AC. One of the rooms also had a loft with an additional sleeping area in addition to the main bed. Great location which was in walking distance to most of Velas and nearby by Boss Burger and a Chinese Restaurant.

I had intended to scout the rest of the island more, but a frustrating trip from home left me less than enegetic = still, I had never been to Velas before and there was plenty to see for a couple of days withoit leaving town. HInt: visit the Land and Sea museum.

Amazing place. Completely stocked small supermarket. Chinese store had an amazing selection of clothes, electronics, etc. Restaurants were wonderful. Everyone we meet was helpful and friendly. Go to the lagoon on the otherside of the island - heavenly. Better hydranga lined roads and fields than Sao Miguel. Call Ramos for taxi service - he is my cousin.

Piscina Natural Simao Dias, the most beautiful natural pool in the Azores. I would recommend it to others. I traveled around the island on a rented scooter. But I thought it was safer to use a car.

Velas is a lovely little town on Sao Jorge.

Velas is a lovely little town on Sao Jorge. It isn't large but has everything you need for a week on tge island. There are several natural swimming pools with free umbrellas and shower/changing facilities (the fact they're free unlike so many places is really good). The restaurants we ate in were really good serving local produce with good value for money. The rest of the island has the spectacular scenery and Velas is a good place to base yourself to see it.

Very homely place, a lot more spacious than expected. Located in a quiet neighborhood of the amazing Sao Jorge island, yet close enough to Velas. The owner was extremely helpful and responsive. We appreciated a welcome package with incredible local cheese. Kitchen is fully equipped. Amazing views towards Pico

The best 2 star hotel I've ever stayed in. Room and bathroom were spotless, beds were ok (typical Portuguese), location in the middle of town, strong airco or use the windows, free street parking nearby, daily room refresh with new towels, and very friendly and helpful staff.

Nice and cozy hotel. Nice hosts, they accepted our late checkin because of late boat from Terceira without any extra fees. Nice location just a few minutes walking from the harbor. Good hygiene, free coffe/tea in the kitche. Would reccommend.

The facilities are located pretty close to the center of Velas, and has an amazing view. The room was wide and equipped with 3 beds; functional setup with what you need for a stay in sao jorge. The staff has been friendly and helpful.
