The interior of the apartment is beautiful, spotlessly clean and thoughtfully arranged. it was quiet and peaceful. The bus stop is very close and we were able to access Vaxholm harbour and central Stockholm easily.

Exceptionnal stay. The place is very relaxing, beautiful and full of history. Rooms are very cute. Direct access to the sea. The staff is very kind and helpful. It’s not that complicated to access there without a car, thanks to ferry or bus. Highly recommended!

Luxury standards are clearly what the hotel aims for and largely achieves. There's a little of the 'standard hotel' feel in the corridors sometimes but the artwork shows an attempt to beat that. Staff are very friendly and helpful. The room was huge with fantastic view towards the sea. Breakfast was generous and diverse, dinner options good.

Breakfast was a bit salty but fits the concept of sweat and recovery. Overall facility was in a great location away from the busy city, able to hike, swim, relax, and recoup. Not far from city and public transportation was available, although you might want to check the times it runs as a 30m journey can become 1hr +.

Vaxholm is the gateway to the Stockholm archipelago, so...

Vaxholm is the gateway to the Stockholm archipelago, so visiting other islands via ferry is easy. Vaxholm itself is very interesting and worth at least a couple days. If you plan on island hopping (day trips from Vaxholm), then figure an additional day per island. If you don't have time to day trip, then definitely take a boat tour to just get a feel for this gorgeous archipelago. It's stunning.

Vaxholm is great place to base yourself for hopping out to...

Vaxholm is great place to base yourself for hopping out to the more remote parts of the archipelago, as many of the ferries from Stockholm stop here before fanning out into the islands. There is a small range of cafes and restaurants, and the Thai Restaurant is particulalry good value and very friendly. The backstreets are well worth an explore, and it is only a short walk south over the bridge to the nature reserve. When the weather is good, it is simply stunning. We loved the Castle, too.

It's a small old city with amazing views around the archipelago, easy to walk around to see beautiful old houses with smiling and helpful citizens. Easy access by bus or boat from Stockholm downtown.

Vaxholm itself has shops, cafes and cycle hire. The nearby islands and the far end of Vaxholm are well worth the visit. There are several separate ferry companies serving the island and a bus so worth researching them on the Internet before hand.

A small village surrounded by the sea.

A small village surrounded by the sea. The best are the beaches and the old town center. I slept at Hemslöjdsgården and an Indian restaurant. Vaxholm is easy to get around if you don't have your own car. Finding parking spaces was tricky.

The location is excellent, right next to the ferry (steep but short climb up - be aware), which is regular into Vaxholm, but watch the timeings later in the evening. We loved the breakfast - lots to choose from, and always plenty to eat. The rooms were small, but very comfortable. Some reviews have been negative about the rooms, however for the price, the spaces are excellent. As the main recreationa nd dining area is shared, it is also very sociable.

The location is great. I had a lovely room overlooking the water with an old tiled stove (not functioning). It was clean and warm and very comfortable. The breakfast was good and the check in with a code for the door was easy. I very much enjoyed my stay and would stay again. There was a small sitting room in the annex, which was nice. This is a comfortable hotel, not a luxury hotel. I liked the quirkiness of the accomodation.

This was a fantastic apartment with more than we needed. Perfect amount of space, beautiful design and Maja is a fantastic host! Super close to the boat or bus to Stockholm, and a perfect base for Vaxholm and the islands. We stayed as four adults and there was more than enough space!

A very tiny house with a fantastic view. In a beautiful street in Vaxholm. Everything was there. Nice patio and on walking distance of the centre and the harbour. Good wifi and a private parking place.
