We had an extraordinary stay! The host just went out of her way to make it very special. She is an absolute darling. We could make you of the orchard and prepare a tasty salad. The house is newly renovated and is very tastefully designed. The location is superb, all activities are close by. We LOVED it and will be back.

Right in the centre of Komen with balcony on the square. Great bed, shower and kitchenette and all looking smart and new. Generous free breakfast of cereal, juice, croissants coffee and toast included in price (in the garden bar under apartment). Best of all was the welcome though. Staff of bar are great and the beer, popcorn and bruschetta were very welcome after a big day cycling. We were also given a free bottle of locally made wine which we drank sitting on the balcony watching the sun go down across the valley.

We had an amazing stay! The hosts were incredibly welcoming and made us feel right at home. The spa was peaceful and luxurious, perfect for unwinding. The highlight was the wine tasting—each wine was delicious, and the hosts shared so much knowledge about their winemaking process. Highly recommend for a relaxing, memorable escape!

The area is absolutely stunningly beatiful!

The area is absolutely stunningly beatiful! (even more beatiful than the Vipava valley maybe in my opinion) Very rural area. Possible to do nice hikes, but the tourism infrastructure is more targeted at cyclists. No marked hiking routes, or trail descriptions. The potential for hiking is there though, but you need to do your own research. It is possible to hike from Branik over the ridge through the hilltop hamlet of Sveti Martin, down to the Vipava valley. Beautiful views of the Vipav valley from Sveti Martin. Then have lunch in Gostilna sivi Čaven Jasmina Čermelj in the village of Potoce, then back to Branik over the Preserje village. And I think, that it would also be possible to hike to the top of the mountain ridge south of Branik, to get a view of the Branica valley. Cycling, you get more mileage, if you don´t mind the hilly roads. There is a bus to the karst hilltop village of Stanjel. It is a walkable distance, but the road isn´t very nice. There are a fair amount of rural B&Bs, at farms and vineyards throughout the area, that are more difficult to get to by public transport. There is an excellent restaurant and pizzeria at Osterija Branik.

We thoroughly enjoyed Branik and the Vipava Valley.

We thoroughly enjoyed Branik and the Vipava Valley. It's a very beautiful area with stunning scenery and a rich history. Trieste and the sea are also easily accessible by car from there.

ideal for bikers, great and fun roads for a 2-3 km drive, smooth asphalt, sometimes cracked. nearby Svata hora (near N. Gorizia), Branik castle (probably another name), caves a stone's throw away, quick route to the sea (Boa beach Muggia) or up into the mountains - I love the road through Čepovan (for motorbikes! I wouldn't go there by car)

Very beautiful place, in the middle of the vineyards, beautiful view, good wine and good food, 20 minutes from Gorizia and about forty from Trieste, Nearby places to visit: Rihemberk Castle, Grad Stanjel-Ferrari garden, Komin, Vipavski Kriz, Aidussina.
