I went with my teen son and we had a wonderful trip. We went sand sledging, camel ride and Quad biking. So enough for us to do. But if you want to go for a very peaceful, remote stay. It's perfect for that too. Very peaceful and tranquil. The evening meal was a filling delicious Senegalese meal. There is a bar too. The rooms/tents are comfortable and the shower was very refreshing! Senegalese evening entertainment around a fire was a perfect ending to a lovely day. Early and late check in makes it even more relaxed. The staff are all friendly and made the stay perfect!

We had a great stay and wished we could spend more time there. The staff were great and the place is really well kept and clean. There was a lovely pool and it was on the beach. The a/c worked and the food was great. Highly recommend.

This new camp is located in the middle of the dunes, near...

This new camp is located in the middle of the dunes, near the former Lompoul desert site (mined for zircon). We even found this site more beautiful than the desert we visited a few years ago.

Better than the desert...

Better than the desert... We were disappointed by the relocation of the camp that had been recommended to us, from the now-developed desert to this new bush area. But in the end, this new site offers all the advantages of a near-desert, with dunes stretching as far as the eye can see, enhanced by acacia trees.

We booked a room, but upon arrival, there were no rooms...

We booked a room, but upon arrival, there were no rooms available. We were given a tent with a bathroom but no water. There were drafts coming from all sides... We were very disappointed with our night and will certainly not be returning. The place is green and pleasant, but it's all about the money.

I highly recommend going there and spending a day there.

I highly recommend going there and spending a day there. Arrive early afternoon, take a camel ride or a vehicle, and watch the sunset over the dunes—it's truly spectacular. The staff will pick you up and take you back to the parking lot, which you'll pay separately for 1,000 CFA when you leave.

We went into the desert on our own in the morning.

We went into the desert on our own in the morning. It's magnificent. There are establishments in the desert that can accommodate guests. It's superb. Africa Roots Desert does indeed exist in the desert, but we were taken somewhere else.
