Never experienced such a great, friendly and warm host. Very willing to tell you about the agriculture, vegetables, fruit and fish. Host will bring you into the Ithanon park if desired. Due to the friendlyness and support it made our trip special and something not to forget easily. This treatment was one of a kind and very much recommended. The host is a special woman with a very warm heart.

The accommodation itself exceeded my expectations. I had a gorgeous view overlooking the rice fields. The villa had large glass windows and was very clean and relatively new. It is just a bit of a hike up and down from the villa to the main road where the homestay's small cafe and office is but that is a given considering the view it provides. The owner was very warm and accommodating; on my arrival she offered to drive me around the village on her motorbike to see the area, and offered for me to ride back with her into the Old City as she was heading there anyway. The homestay was a beautiful welcome respite tucked away in the mountains if you just want to get away into nature. I would say there isn't much to do activity-wise in the area that isn't a drive away. The homestay is about 3km away from the main road -- for those thinking maybe they want to tour Doi Inthanon from here. Generally, everything is quite a drive away. So best to really just book a tour with a group so that your transport is already provided for. I got to the homestay because my tour group dropped me off along the main road and waited until the owner of the homestay picked me up on her motorbike. I stayed overnight at the homestay and rode back with the owner the following morning into the city.

We loved everything about our stay. The chalet was lovely, immaculate and huge. Breakfast was excellent too. Everyone is so friendly, we didn’t want to leave. The resort is huge, with lovely ponds and very relaxing. Cannot recommend it highly enough.

The hosts went above and beyond organising our trips to Doi Inthanon, arranging a taxi, and even personally driving us back to Chiang Mai. The hosts were amazing, there was a terrible rain when we came and they saved us with umbrellas. After checking in they gave us option to choose dinner and brought it to our room. The view is also great. Breakfast was ready for us for the time we asked for.

Chom Tong is a small town about 1.5 hour from Chiang Mai. Travellers use it as the base to explore Doi Inthanon. There is a decent choice of F&B establishments, supermarket, cinema, etc. Best explored if you have transport (rental car or taxi service which can be booked by the day)

The city Chom Thong was almost 30 km away from the mountain...

The city Chom Thong was almost 30 km away from the mountain village where Pae moo homestay in situated. A yellow bus in Chom Thong which drives you to Doi ithanon pass from a distance of approximately 1,5 km the homestay .

Chom Thong is more of a stopover town for the Doi Inthanon...

Chom Thong is more of a stopover town for the Doi Inthanon and/or Mae Hong Song Loop. It's worth visiting Pha Chor or the Mae Ya Waterfall. There's a large, modern supermarket/Tesco Lotus.
