Nice place to visit, but don't bother staying overnight if...
Nice place to visit, but don't bother staying overnight if you enjoy travelling around many different places. We stayed 2 nights and were back in Taipei by mid afternoon of checkout day. I recommend having a car/bike because walking around mountainous areas is tiring, especially when it's raining. Food here is excellent.

We really only walked to old town one day as we spent a lot...
We really only walked to old town one day as we spent a lot of time in the hotel and in the hotel spa. However, in one day we in the village we had great street food, took a tram up the mountain, took a vintage train ride, went for a long walk, and we loved our hotel Volando Urai.
We didn't get a chance to go to the indigenous museum which looked great. We will visit Wulai again!

Beautiful location, it is a 20 minute uphill from the town but worth it to be in the hills. The spa tubs under the grapefruit trees was wonderful. The staff were very helpful, and can support English speakers. The owner of the hotel also kindly dropped off us in the town when we checked out and gave us helpful tips to manage the rest of our day in Wulai. The coffee in their little coffee shop is superb.

Steamboat dinner and breakfast are included and are both good.
Lift is provide from the entrance to the front desk.
A spacious bathroom with a private hot spring bathtub.
Location is good - just beside the walking street of Wulai. Walking distance to the Wulai suspension bridge.
Nice view from the restaurant where you can see the hot spring river and temple opposite.

The apartment was ready one hour before the original check-in time. It was very clean, the staff was very helpful and tried to communicate in English. The hot springs were also very relaxing.
