We had the executive family room, we used the lounge a little for a few drinks,2 2x 9yo boy and girl. The facilities exceeded our expectations, clean, spacious and everything you need. Definitely stay again for the right price.

Excellent!! From the hotel lobby, to the rooms, to the buffet spread and the indoor playground for kids, everything was perfect. We took the Japanese style room & the view was perfect, overlooking Sun Moon Lake. Room was spacious, new and comfortable. Both dinner & breakfast buffet spread was perfect. Onsen was great too. Nothing to complain about.

Perfect location. 3 minutes of walk to the bus station to take the bus back to Taipei (or the arrival station of the bus from Alishan). The Sun Moon Lake is right outside the hotel's restaurant. Good selection of breakfast but mostly Chinese style. The room is quite small, but understandable. The staff can speak English.

The location is close to Suishe Visitor Center where the bus drops visitors off. It's about a 20 minute walk with luggage but we asked the hotel shuttle to pick us up and drop us off at the visitors center when we arrived and left. You can also schedule ahead of time if you want the shuttle to drop you off at Suishe at other times. There was a large buffet breakfast that was quite tasty. The room was also very clean and we liked the view. There were many bikes to use for free to bike along the bike path. This is not a criticism (and Sun Moon Lake is primarily a domestic tourist location) but a FYI - if you don't speak Chinese, communication with the hotel staff might be a bit challenging. Some staff had a little bit of English language skills but that was not necessarily consistent. That's ok though :) just be prepared with some sort of translator app which is definitely useful in Taiwan anyway.

Stayed 2 nights at Hotelday Sun Moon Lake. The hotel is strategically located next to Sun Moon Lake and it is opposite the Wenwu Temple. The round the island public bus stop is also in front of the hotel makes it a very convenient place to stay. The hotel design is a mixture of modern contemporary and Chinese influences. Very cozy and comfortable. They provide breakfast and "supper" for most of the rate plan, however the "supper" has a very limited variety and it is only open from 8.30pm onwards.  The room was cleverly designed, with the shower and WC separated and the vanity was located outside.  My room was located at level 2, though there was a balcony but there was no view, blocked by all the trees. If you prefer to have room with view over the lake, you have to book higher floor otherwise it is as good as not having a balcony. There is a roof top bar on level 7. The view was amazing, minimum spend per person is required. Generally, it was a pleasant stay.

Sun Moon Lake was beautiful.

Sun Moon Lake was beautiful. Most memorable for us were the early morning walk from Yida Shao to the 9 frog stack and back , Wen Wu Temple (definitely a must-see) and the Yida Shao market (the street foods were fantastic).

Beautiful lake setting in Taiwan.

Beautiful lake setting in Taiwan. Ita Thao is sort of the alternative choice to big hotel complexes, but more interesting with night market. Definitely recommend taking the time to ride bikes around lake. It is a beautiful path. But warning, not always an "easy ride". There are a couple of big hills.

Easy to access and lots of shops, restaurants and snack stalls. I thinks it is a nicer choice than Sushie. Nice walks along the lake. Easy stroll to cable car and the frogs statue. Take the boat across the lake or bus around it. Both are easy to use.

Sun Moon Lake is breathtakingly beautiful.

Sun Moon Lake is breathtakingly beautiful. Words or images cannot rightfully describe how pretty this place is until you get to experience it by yourself. It is best with the right weather, I would recommend visiting in Winter when there is less rainfall. There are also a bunch of activities to do. You can bike around the Lake to Xiangshan Visitor Center, take a ferry to Ita Thao to browse for delicious street food, walk along the board walk to the ropeway and enjoy the view of the lake. There are also several temples and traditional religious and cultural sites to explore and learn about the indigenous tribes. The only downside is the bus timing is a little bit too far apart. Many locals and tourists have private vehicles. You need to plan your time well if you don't have a car and want to visit the places not accessible by ferry.

This is the most beautiful family hotel that I have ever...

This is the most beautiful family hotel that I have ever stayed. It is considered pricey for a hotel in Taiwan but the view of Sun Moon lake and facilities in my opinion makes it really worth. It has one whole level of entertainment, pool with slide and hotspring at the same area so you won’t have to leave your children alone while enjoying. Their breakfast buffet is till 12noon and you can go as many times as you like so you ended up having free lunch too! The lake view is just so beautiful. Both old and young enjoyed the facilities and said it was the best stay in Taiwan. I wish there is more English speaking tour but the staff tried their best to explain using the English sheet. The staffs were all very helpful and friendly, it just feels like home. Special shout out to the reservation team - Tina / Gigi and all the staffs that helped us get back my daughter’s Elsa wristband that has an AirTag . They found it and mail to back to us in Singapore immediately without any hesitation! Thank you so much!!! 🥰

The lake is one of the most beautiful places I've ever been.

The lake is one of the most beautiful places I've ever been. It is not the most accessible by public transport, however. If you like adventure, then you can take the bus (I also took a ferry because the bus coming into the area stops on one side of the lake). If you have the option of renting a car, I would recommend doing that, as it will make your trip more comfortable. Overall, Sun Moon Lake is wonderful, as well as the surrounding area. There are so many activities.

The hotel was near the Bus station that is coming from Taichung to Sun Moon lake and vice versa. The location was great especially for us, because we only stayed overnight. We saw and did enough for the stay.
