The Hotel is located next to the Beach Park. It has been maintained well. The hotel has two outdoor pools along with hot tub. Sunrise viewing is a literally walk across the park. We had a ocean view room so could view the sunrise from the window. The hotel also has laundary facility, which was very effective. Also, there was enough parking including a overflow area. The check-in and check-out was seamless experience. It is highly recomended for families with kids. The unique thing is that Lydgate Beach Park is right next to the property, and you can spend quality time both during sunrise and sunset hours and throughout the day too. As we did not avail the breakfast facilitiy, cannot comment on it.

The check is automated via a door code that activates at 3pm. A staff member called in the morning to ensure we received our room number and code via email. We arrived a bit early and needed to drop our bags off before going for a tour and they kindly sent a housekeeping staff to open the door for us. The room was clean and the bathroom looked like recently renovated.

Kapaa seems to be an old town.

Kapaa seems to be an old town. It is not like Poipu or Hanalei but good small town. We had great meal at Fish Bar Deli, local foods (spam musubi and chicken karate) to take out at Wailua Drive In, and big bowl of pho at Pho Kapaa. These places were busy with local people and we enjoyed their meals as well as services.

Super nice people, lots to see and do at any pace. We could have used more time there. Food was excellent with everything we tried. Would have gone to a luau but found it expensive ...save our pennies for next time ;)

Beautiful small town with many options to try local cuisine. We were only in town overnight for a work trip, looking forward to going back. We had dinner at the Bullshed and the food was amazing! Best prime rib ever, live Hawaiian music and excellent service.

Had never been to Kauai (and we went in the winter so the...

Had never been to Kauai (and we went in the winter so the North Shore wasn't where we wanted to stay.) Having looked at maps of the island and things we want to schedule doing we decided on Kapaa because it was a centralized location to both the North Shore (where we did want to spend a day at) and also the south shore (were we did a lot lot activities) So due it's location on the island and where we wanted to travel to , Kapaa was the perfect choice. Traveling to the areas outside Kappa was also a great way to see as much of the island as possible. Kapaa is a nice laid back area as is much of Kauai. We were there about 8 days. Would return there in the future if we should be so lucky to get back to Kauai. As for restaurants, we ate ( and celebrated a birthday) at Hukilau Lanai (at the Kauai Coast Resort...where we also stayed) The food and atmosphere were excellent. We had lunch at Lava Lava Beach Club (which was next door) Food was great and sitting on sand/grass right at the ocean was perfect! We also ate at Bull Shed. (Also right next door to our resort the other direction) Wonderful food there as well. Wanted to check out Lemongrass Grill but it was closed the day we wanted to go. We traveled to so many places on the island that we ate at a variety of places while on our journeys. We never experience bad food on Kauai. WE also got a lot of food./snacks/shave ice and treats at the Coconut Marketplace ( a great place and was practically in our resort parking lot so we were there A LOT!!

Beautiful!

Beautiful! The grounds are well maintained and kept up daily. We went to the pool every day, at different times each day. While we were there it never felt like the pool area was too small. Loved being a very short walk to an easy access to a sandy beach. We used the walking path every day to go for our morning swim at Lydgate beach. We also liked snorkeling there, I believe we counted 15 different types of fish swimming in there. It was so fun looking for them in the calmer area there. Great place to swim for the entire family! We fell in Love with this place! This location is only 15 minutes away from Costco.

We have been to Kauai many, many times.

We have been to Kauai many, many times. The first night we stay in a hotel near Kapaa, and then we rent a house on the north shore in Hanaei near/on the water. Minimum of two weeks. 3 is preferable. We mostly visit the beaches and don't come into Kapaa except for the first day.

The location is great! The Lava Lava restaurant and beach club was lovely, the food was very good, although the prices quite expensive. We borrowed the bikes that are provided free of charge, this was a great addition to our stay as it gave us the chance to visit the local beaches and market. There is a cycling path from the hotel to the southern and northern beaches. The beach just in front of the hotel is really nice, the swimming pool and the jacuzzi are a nice addition.

This is an awesome hotel in a great location. We loved the oceanfront room. The place was very clean and comfortable. Staff were very nice and welcoming. We liked the peacefulness and quiet. We also liked the walking trail in front of the property. Thank you we loved it and hope to be back again.

Welcoming ambience. Nice rooms and clean. Hotel was near to the airport so really good. Staff was okay - not so motivated sometimes but okay :) a lot of parking space. Beach access. Restaurants and stores right next to the hotel.

This was a great place to stay for my week-long stay in Kauai. Large room, comfortable beds, useful kitchenette. WiFi was always excellent. Close to a number of shops and the bus stop. I would stay here again.
