One of the best places I've ever stayed at! The place was very cozy, clean and had everything we needed. It has a beautiful view and it is very quiet and peaceful. I highly recommend this place! Gert-Jan was very helpful - he is an amazing host and really cares about the comfort of his guests!!

We really loved the aesthetic of Villekula as well as the efforts the property makes to promote sustainable tourism. It was also great fun interacting with the different animal found on site, particularly the very inquisitive donkeys that greet you at breakfast in the morning The food is amazing so besides breakfast, you definitely must have dinner on the property at least once. We had the dinner buffet on Thursday and each and every dish served was mindblowingly delicious

Lovely cottage on a in the trees. Big space, comfortable bed an nice surroundings. The owners are extremely nice and helpful. It is perfectly situated close to the N2 but far from the noise. Very safe place. And as a bonus I had the visit from the Knysna Turaco

Stunning hotel - our room was gorgeous- well thought out huge windows looking out at the forest. Felt very special. Linen on the beds is gorgeous. The public area is beautiful with the pool overlooking the forest. The decor, and furnishings are lovely. Really this is a gorgeous hotel. The staff were all very kind and helpful and could not do enough for us - I highly recommend this hotel.

Absolutely lovely little cottage that has everything you could wish for. Location is wonderful if you need access to the Crags area and love the peace and quiet. The hosts are lovely, warm, and welcoming people. The bed is easily the most comfortable bed i have ever slept in. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay and will definitely book again on my next stay.

Fab - comfortable, welcoming, very easy to find and fantastically helpful hosts. Easy and quick access to Natures Valley hikes and restaurants etc in Plettenberg. Best breakfast we had in a month of touring the Garden Route. We’re in our 50s, fastidious about where we stay and recommend 20 Good Summers wholeheartedly.

A beautiful region, with excellent restaurants.

A beautiful region, with excellent restaurants. The Grootrivier and (Western Cape part of) the Bloukrans River passes are exceptional, as is Nature's Valley. The Birds of Eden is THE world leading bird conservancy -- the biggest anywhere with free flying birds in a magnificent forest with a beautiful kloof, waterfall ,,, The nearby Monkeyland and Jukani conservancies are also probably the best in Africa. Thyme & Again restaurant is also a favourite.

This is definitely not a family holiday spot!

This is definitely not a family holiday spot! It could, at best, be a backpackers lodge. The water in the bathrooms was brownish, and although there were assurances that it was healthy, we were sceptical. The rooms were tiny and barely furnished. The kitchen is communal and almost 100 meters away from the rooms - very inconvenient for those rainy days! What about the toilet and bathroom outside the rooms! We had surely booked the wrong place, and stayed only for one night out of four.

Its a wonderful place to stay, especially since it is 18kms from Plettenberg Bay, so its more serene than Plett over the height of summer. There is a lot to do in the vicinity. We loved our visits to the elephant sanctuary (an absolute must-do), the wolf sanctuary, Birds of Eden, Tenikwa (wildlife rehabilitation), Jukani (wildlife sanctuary, especially for Big Cats) and Monkeyland. There's a super water park (Adventureland) about 19kms away, with fabulous waterslides. We made the mistake of not booking restaurants for dinner in advance. Over late December / early January most places were fully booked, which really limited our options and we spent a lot of time calling around, which we could have avoided. I would scout the restaurants and book well in advance next time.

The Crags is close to South Africa's most famous bungee jump...

The Crags is close to South Africa's most famous bungee jump at Bloukrans Bridge and also to the suspension bridges in Tsitsikamma National Park. These are places we've been to. In addition, it boasts lush natural beauty.

20 Good Summers is a beautiful farm outside of Plettenberg Bay. Davina and Derek have been exceptional hosts, making me and my brother feel very welcome in their beautiful home! We particularly enjoyed the company of lovely dogs and the tranquility of the farm!

Lovely, quirky hotel, very well placed for both Knysna and Tsitsikamma. Really kind and friendly staff. Lots of lovely touches including a wood burning stove in the bedroom and a bedtime story book. Verandas with lovely views across the valley.
