We had the perfect stay at South Gap hotel. I was slightly nervous of the noise levels looking at previous reviews, but with an ocean view room this wasn’t a problem for us at all. The rooms were made up everyday, the bed was huge and comfy and we loved our sundowners on the balcony! The food and drinks were also great. Really can’t fault our stay.

Mostly the staff. They were very welcoming and accommodating with each interaction. Persons such as Michael and Shane were on top of things when needed also the rastafarian guy who took care of the grounds gave me and my guest one of the freshly picked coconuts which really added to our experience of the island lifestyle. I highly recommend this place and will continue to stay here each time I visit the island.

This hotel is located on the beautiful Dover Beach, on Barbados’ south coast. It offers 2 outdoor pools, 2 tennis courts and air-conditioned rooms with a private balcony or patio.
Room was somewhat dated, but clean and comfortable. Beds were comfortable. Also felt safe as there was a security guard 24/7 with lots of cameras being monitored throught the property. AC was excellent, and with remote, very easy to adjust to our comfort level. Pools were well maintained. Restaurant was very nice, with ample choices for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Prices were reasonable. Staff were very friendly. Complimentary afternoon tea was a nice added touch. Good location at the southern end of St. Lawrence Gap. This kept us away from the numerous restaurants and bars further to the north, so it was quiet at night. We will be back in Barbados in 2026 and will book again at Southern Palms.

I liked the ambiance and quietness of the place. Breakfast was good and I really enjoyed staying there. I definitely planned to return with my wife for a vacation in the not too distant future. The breakfast was great. We were pleased with the taste and the options. The staff was always pleasant and friendly, and we felt welcomed whenever they saw us. The location of the Hotel and the Boardwalk was also excellent. I saw monkeys on the compound one morning before going for a walk; seeing them was amazing.
