Truly Special Retreat Our stay at Mharo Khet was an experience we’ll never forget. From the moment we arrived, there was a sense of calm and stillness that made us feel instantly at ease — it’s the kind of place that gently slows you down and lets you reconnect with yourself. The spaces are beautifully thought through — elegant, earthy, and in perfect harmony with the farm around them. The little design touches stood out to us: handmade rugs, pottery, mother-of-pearl inlaid tables, and open decks with rocking chairs where you can sit and watch the colors of dawn and dusk unfold. Everything felt authentic and personal, never overdone, and yet so comfortable. What made it even more special were the experiences woven into daily life here — like starting the morning with a soothing champi (head massage), or trying our hand at weaving a traditional charpoy with the team. These small, thoughtful touches brought us closer to the spirit of the place. And the food… absolutely unforgettable. Each meal felt like a celebration of the farm — inventive, fresh, and full of flavor. Dining here is not just eating, it’s a journey that lingers with you. Overall our experience was great and I’m so happy we chose Mharo Khet for our getaway. I can’t wait to be back to immerse in their experiences and soak in the culture they offer.

Every team member went above and beyond to make us feel welcome and ensure that every detail of our stay was perfect. Their genuine smiles and willingness to help created such a warm and inviting atmosphere. The location of the hotel couldn’t be better — ideally situated with easy access to beautiful natural surroundings. Whether we wanted to explore local attractions, take scenic walks, or simply relax, everything was within reach. The food was absolutely exceptional. Each meal was a delightful experience, with creative dishes, fresh ingredients, and wonderful presentation. Breakfast, lunch, and dinner all exceeded our expectations — a true culinary highlight! We also loved the variety of activities available in the area. From outdoor adventures and cultural experiences to peaceful spots for relaxation, there was always something exciting to do. The staff gave us great recommendations, which made our days even more enjoyable. Overall, our stay was unforgettable — a perfect combination of comfort, hospitality, and charm. We can’t wait to come back and would highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a truly special experience.

One night for the family tent with breakfast costed Rs. 53,159 which I thought is quite expensive. But it was worth it because this place is truly special. The key essence of this place is the Chhatrasagar reservoir and the resort situated on the ancient dam creating the reservoir. The ambience is peaceful and you will experience the sound of nature and no sounds made by humans! We did 2 activities. The sundown boat ride with tea served on the boat (!) costed Rs. 1,800 per person. It was an electric boat (my first experience). A naturalist and a boat driver accompanied us. This was so fascinating as we were given binoculars and we witnessed different bird species. The other activity which was free was star gazing in the night with a telescope and astronomy guide. Fascinating again. The air conditioned tents were almost flawless and everything provided was top notch quality. The dining area and the open courtyard, the top of hill courtyard and the newly minted spa makes this resort a momentous experience. You leave with very fond memories. The shower experience is heavenly. The WiFi is an open one (why doesn’t the world of hotels learn this!). You are greeted and sent off by hotel staff and offered optional alcoholic drink as a welcome drink (another first). Special mention that my request for washing the car was taken care of easily.

This place is one of a kind. You feel welcome as a royal guest. The property, the staff, the dining experience, the pool area, the room - every aspect was taken care of to perfection!

Nice people with nice place on high note

The place is owned by a couple, Indrani and Vikram providing an exceptional hospitality ! Away from Leh and the dogs barking at night, we spent three very relaxing days. The food was always an impressive experience, with a romantic setup in the garden.
