Superb breakfast presented in exquisite way on superb crockery, A knockout

Well located in the centre of Kyoto, Hotel Muso provides 3-star accommodation close to Gion Shijo Station and Kyoto Shigaku Kaikan Conference Hall.
Absolutely everything! Beautiful room, super spacious. Extremely helpful and kind staff and a great location! Also great we could get breakfast delivered to our rooms every morning. No complains at all. We will be back every time we visit Kyoto :)

Cancelled my booking with another hotel and took a chance on this one after seeing the stellar reviews, and after staying here, I can confirm that the compliments are 100% deserved. The staff are extremely friendly, always ready to help and greeting you with a smile! We even got escorted to the train station on our last day there, which was honestly something I've NEVER experienced from any other hotel in Japan. I stayed in a 4-star hotel in Kyoto after my stay here, and the service was so much colder and stingier in comparison... not to mention, there are plenty of massage chairs on the first floor for you to relax in (for free!) after a hectic day of shopping, as well as free flow of drinks in the lounge area. On days when you don't feel like eating out (or if you just want a break from the crowd), you can buy food back and have your meal in the lounge in peace :) the fact that the hotel itself is relatively small is an advantage, because I never saw the lounge entirely filled during my stay there. It's also much easier to do your laundry (no need to wait in line or do your laundry at weird hours). Will definitely stay here again in future!

Close to a major station of Kaihan Line, Shichijo. Almost every class of Kaihan train stops at Shichijo station. The free alcohol and non-alcohol drinks and snacks at the grand and second floor lounges are very satisfying. Let alone the mini-bar in the room, free of charge! Staff are fluent in English. They allow you dropping your luggage a few days before check-in which is very nice. So we got to only bring an overnight bag to Arashiyama.
