Near Hemije only 30mins away on local JR train, so convenient for visiting Hemije castle. This is a truly authentic Ryokan in a small town. The town is unremarkable, but the rooms and the meal was absolutely Fantastic, and perhaps the most authentic experience of a Ryokan we had over a 16 day trip in Japan. I would definitely recommend and i hope one day myself to return.

Rika and Gareth made us feel very welcome. The breakfast was outstanding and provided us with the fuel to hit the slopes during the day. The Accomodation is modern and roomy by Japanese standards. The location is a short walk to the Kitanomine gondola (we are snowboarders and prefer to walk as part of our warm-up). Alternatively, you can catch a lift if you want! Rika is Furano born and speaks excellent English. She and her husband were also happy to teach us some Japanese and share/explain local customs.

Everything. The facilities in the room were very nice: big bathroom, big bathtub, big room. Also a small kitchen with sink and oven can be found in the room. The location was excellent, close to shops and bus stops. When we come back, we'll stay again here.
