I originally planned to stay just four days having booked randomly and seeing only a few reviews (not realising they were quite newly open) but I was so taken by the location, nestled in the mountains with stunning views and the perfect swimming pool.Moon took guests the short jaunt into town if need be and the very personable Phet Simone trekked us through a jungle path to the local village and elephant sanctuary where we got to feed the elephants and wash them in the river (only charge was in the sanctuary).Four day’s just wasn’t enough for me and I wanted to work my way around the delicious menu.Only thing I consistently ate was the amazing (free) Zen omelette which I had every morning without fail 😋 Moon was an inspiring source of information and only too willing to engage in conversations about local history,customs,cuisine and culture.Couldn’t recommend this place highly enough 👍

The hotel had all modern reqiurements and my room had a beautiful view of the Mekong River and a stunning sunrise that I could see from my bed if desired. The restaurant was excellent and it was great to be able to cool off and relax beside the pool. Although I did not have time to use them there were bicycles available free to ride to the town and surrounding countryside. The staff were helpful and polite.

Nice, clean and quiet place, a bit remote from the city. Owner is super nice and helpful. She ordered us a scooter and gave us advice for the loop. We would go back with pleasure.

The houses in the resort are traditional houses from different regions of Laos that have been reassembled and built into rooms with modern amenities. A kind of accommodation-museum. There was love in the air for the local culture and life, as well as for the guests. Looking at the service staff busy in the complex, you feel as if you are living in a nice village in friendly Laos. The view of the Mekong, especially at sunset, is so beautiful that you may forget to finish your coctail. Breakfast is fresh, really tasty and different every morning. The massage is great. The resort is a longer walk from the center of Luang Prabang, but the road is not friendly for walking. It's better to drive. The resort offers transportation to the city and you can easily get back. The resort also offers excursions. If Luang Prabang city vacation is interesting, one can split the time so that half at On the Mekong Resort and half in the city. We did so and were very satisfied. However, looking back, if there was only one stop to choose from, it would be On the Mekong Resort.

The people were very helpful. I needed to reach at airport very early morning, and they helped me arrange the vehicle and breakfast. The room was not big but just nice for one person and best thing, clean.

We had a wonderful stay at Maison Vongprachan. Jessica, the hotel manager was super friendly and helpful. The included breakfast was a great bonus. So close to the night market and shops with a lovely restaurant across the road. Highly recommend!

Absolutely recommended place in Vang Vieng! It was quiet and comfortable, with a great breakfast option. The view from the 2nd level rooms is amazing. It was perfectly clean and the host was really nice and helpful.
