We had the most beautiful experience at Leel's cottage. Leel and his family are wonderful, kind and genuine people who make your stay unforgettable. The room is beautifully decorated, you'll be amazed by Leel's craftsmanship. We enjoyed just sitting on the porch with the swinging chair and enjoying nature. If tranquility is what you are looking for, then this place is right for you. Leel is also a very knowledgeable, experienced and passionate safari guide. We had the best experience exploring the national park away from the beaten tracks. He pointed out so many animals which might have gone undiscovered for the untrained eye. Another highlight is the homemade food! Do not miss out on dinner! Leel's wife is a beautician, so you can get professional treatment there as well. I was very happy with my manicure. We left with a heavy heart as it felt we made wonderful friends.

As we really wanted to see wild elephants, we made a stop in Udawalawe, but spotting them wasn't our biggest suprise here. We stayed at the Amba Kola hotel and this was just the most wonderful experience. The kindest owners truely, the nicest room, a brand new and well kept pool, the most delicious food from the entire trip, and playful dogs amongst which the two most adorable puppies  🐶 As mentionned, the food was incredible and we had the chance to take part in the preparation by doing the cooking class with the owner. Something you should really try after a morning safari.  Janik is also so kind, ready to help you with anything, answer any question. He will make everything in his power to make you feel like the most valuable guest on the planet. If you are passing by, really we can't recommend it enough 😍 (we thought the 10 on booking was impossible. Well we thought wrong)

Best staff I have experienced. The guys were so friendly. They are amazing. The food and the spice route made this a 9+ experience. They deserve everything that is coming to them. Well done! We booked this hotel on our first day, since it was close to the airport, we might book on our last day as well.

A wonderful hotel with wonderful staff. It only opened in March but it was very homely and comfortable. Our bedroom was enormous with stunning views of the sea. The pool was perfect and because it is a relatively small hotel, 11 rooms and a penthouse, there wasn’t a problem getting a sun bed regardless of time of day. No towels on sunbeds at sunrise here. Breakfast was good, great juice, fresh fruit and breads to accompany the cooked dishes. I would definitely recommend this hotel for quality and position as there were so many restaurants close by. And loved Kiki the hotel dog who was so sweet.

I had a fantastic stay at Ocean Bliss Villa. The property was spotless, and the breakfast was delicious. The view was breathtaking, and the staff provided exceptional service, making us feel welcome from the start. Highly recommended!

Jim's farm villas is the epitome of luxury, calm and beauty. Every single detail makes this place a very unique home. Sobriety and elegance are everywhere. Very committed staff. If you treasure quiet and authentic haven, this is it!

10/10 – I honestly have no words. This is hospitality at the highest level. Everyone is incredibly attentive, always there for a quick chat, but never intrusive. You just feel genuinely cared for from the first minute to the last. The property itself is stunning – beautifully designed, extremely clean and perfectly maintained. And for anyone who, like me, is a bit scared of bugs: I was worried about mosquitos at first, but it turned out to be a complete non-issue. There’s no mosquito net and still… nothing. I have no idea how they do it, but it works. 😄 Breakfast is absolutely unreal – if you stay long enough, you basically get to taste everything Sri Lanka has to offer. Every morning feels like a little food adventure. The guestbook is also such a gem: full of heartfelt messages and genuinely useful insider tips for the area – we used it a lot. A special shout-out to the dogs – I absolutely loved them! They’re hilarious, calm and a bit reserved at first, but still super friendly and affectionate if you want some cuddles. They fit the whole vibe of the place perfectly. Pool, yoga shala – they have it all. Yet it somehow never feels like a big anonymous resort, but intimate, peaceful and deeply personal. I could write a whole novel about how unique this villa is, but that would probably break the review format. So I’ll keep it short: Villa Mayava is a true gem. Huge thanks to Carol and the entire team – it’s unbelievable what you’ve created here and every single one of you deserves a big round of applause. 🫶

Beautiful garden with the pool, great location hidden between the palm trees. Lovely and charming hosts not to mention delicious breakfasts!

Let me start by saying that the staff went over and beyond during our stay (and post-stay experience). We had a mishap at a nearby city and the staff promptly came down and provided us with support to get us out of a blunder. We also left an item behind when we proceeded to our next hotel, and they travelled 2 hours to courier the item to us. Really beyond thankful. Wonderful breakfast spread and dinner on request, and we also met the owner who was a generous host. The pool was impeccably clean and the room was spacious and comfortable.
