I liked many things about Nuga Retreat. First of all, the beautiful, natural surroundings with mountain views created a unique atmosphere of peace and relaxation. The rooms were comfortable and well-equipped, providing convenience, and the outdoor pool was a great place to unwind. I also really appreciated the friendly and helpful staff who truly made an effort to ensure our stay was enjoyable.

From the very first moment, we felt right at home. The hosts were incredibly caring and kind, making us feel like part of their family. Their warm welcome and continuous attentiveness made our stay truly special. One highlight was definitely the tour with the host (Rabi) to see the lorises. These fascinating creatures, which are hardly seen anywhere else in the world, left us completely enchanted. It was a wonderful experience that we highly recommend. Thank you for this unforgettable time – we will definitely be coming back!

Everything! Possibly the best customer service I’ve ever experienced- and I’ve travelled a lot. Everything was clean. Food was amazing - be sure to eat all meals here if you can. An outdoor shower was a real highlight too. The family could not do enough for us. They even came along on the safari tour with us in case the guide didn’t have good English. I cannot recommend this place highly enough.

Leels Cottage absolutely exceeded our expectations, the cottage really is a luscious private haven and I wouldn’t change a thing. The room is so stylish and the photos don’t do it justice. The safari was absolutely amazing and Leel pulled over a couple of times to collect litter, one piece would have been particularly harmful to the wildlife, which shows his care and commitment to his job and the animals. Leel always maintained a very respectful distance to animals, which worked very much in our favour as one elephant approached us and grazed a metre from the truck. The safari breakfast made by Leel’s wonderful mum and wife was incredible, they really know how to do a picnic breakfast. The dinner we had at Leels was perfect, we could not be more impressed. 10/10 stay

I had a fantastic stay at Ocean Bliss Villa. The property was spotless, and the breakfast was delicious. The view was breathtaking, and the staff provided exceptional service, making us feel welcome from the start. Highly recommended!

Jim's farm villas is the epitome of luxury, calm and beauty. Every single detail makes this place a very unique home. Sobriety and elegance are everywhere. Very committed staff. If you treasure quiet and authentic haven, this is it!

10/10 – I honestly have no words. This is hospitality at the highest level. Everyone is incredibly attentive, always there for a quick chat, but never intrusive. You just feel genuinely cared for from the first minute to the last. The property itself is stunning – beautifully designed, extremely clean and perfectly maintained. And for anyone who, like me, is a bit scared of bugs: I was worried about mosquitos at first, but it turned out to be a complete non-issue. There’s no mosquito net and still… nothing. I have no idea how they do it, but it works. 😄 Breakfast is absolutely unreal – if you stay long enough, you basically get to taste everything Sri Lanka has to offer. Every morning feels like a little food adventure. The guestbook is also such a gem: full of heartfelt messages and genuinely useful insider tips for the area – we used it a lot. A special shout-out to the dogs – I absolutely loved them! They’re hilarious, calm and a bit reserved at first, but still super friendly and affectionate if you want some cuddles. They fit the whole vibe of the place perfectly. Pool, yoga shala – they have it all. Yet it somehow never feels like a big anonymous resort, but intimate, peaceful and deeply personal. I could write a whole novel about how unique this villa is, but that would probably break the review format. So I’ll keep it short: Villa Mayava is a true gem. Huge thanks to Carol and the entire team – it’s unbelievable what you’ve created here and every single one of you deserves a big round of applause. 🫶

Owner's friendly conversations. Very helpful staff. Cozy environment. Services they provide. Privacy. Connections with the surrounding services. (ex. If we need some food, they know and suggest the best, if we need a three wheel driver because it is raining, they will give you a contact for best price, spots for visiting nearby) Cozy room with paddle fan & AC. Mini fidge and some storage for food. Tea making items with everyday filling milk bottle. Clean and neat bathroom with shampoo body wash etc. ( Found good body lotion for myself there 😜) New linen for beds and clean towels, pool towels. Swimming pool with comfy beach beds. Night lights 🔥. Outside open pavillion. ( It was the best place I found, took our dinner and watched movies there with lights around ❤️) Very nice breakfast. (They asked us for western food or local one. Of course western one. We loved it 😍)

Everything and anything!!! This place is a paradise on earth… truly magical! It’s 3 min by Tuk Tuk, or motorbike from the beach, which is just what you need to be away from the main road. It’s completely immerse in nature and next to the lake… endless numbers of animals and birds surround the property. You have a natural sounds playlist 24h a day!! The owner Andy, and the manager Yanaka + the cooks are the nicest and kindest persons, and they truly do everything to make your stay perfect!! The rooms are incredibly well decorated, huge and super clean with any type of facility!! The garden, overlooking rice fields, is a park itself. You can also get a massage booked or do yoga and breathwork under one of the many trees!! A true place for the soul 🌴🍉🥥 will be back soon
