I liked many things about Nuga Retreat. First of all, the beautiful, natural surroundings with mountain views created a unique atmosphere of peace and relaxation. The rooms were comfortable and well-equipped, providing convenience, and the outdoor pool was a great place to unwind. I also really appreciated the friendly and helpful staff who truly made an effort to ensure our stay was enjoyable.

You are completely in the nature, only animals and plant sounds, you can free your soul from the rest. The staff is very kind and treat you like a friend

As we really wanted to see wild elephants, we made a stop in Udawalawe, but spotting them wasn't our biggest suprise here. We stayed at the Amba Kola hotel and this was just the most wonderful experience. The kindest owners truely, the nicest room, a brand new and well kept pool, the most delicious food from the entire trip, and playful dogs amongst which the two most adorable puppies  🐶 As mentionned, the food was incredible and we had the chance to take part in the preparation by doing the cooking class with the owner. Something you should really try after a morning safari.  Janik is also so kind, ready to help you with anything, answer any question. He will make everything in his power to make you feel like the most valuable guest on the planet. If you are passing by, really we can't recommend it enough 😍 (we thought the 10 on booking was impossible. Well we thought wrong)

Leel and his family are the most amazing people, and the property is just beautiful! The rooms are what I'd call Sri Lankan jungle-chich, very curated clean and comfy. We had lunch, dinner and a breakfast on-the-go and the food was always great. Leel personally guided our safari and it was awesome, he is very knowledgeable and loves what he does, which is very visible :) He even offered to take us to our next destination with his jeep, providing us with a panoramic fun trip there. We would definitely recommend this property but don't book too much, we're hoping to find it available next time we come too ;)

Best staff I have experienced. The guys were so friendly. They are amazing. The food and the spice route made this a 9+ experience. They deserve everything that is coming to them. Well done! We booked this hotel on our first day, since it was close to the airport, we might book on our last day as well.

We had a fantastic stay at ocean bliss villa mirissa with the reasonable price and is good value for money. 'A truly home like stay'. The staff were incredibly friendly. The rooms were very clean, comfortable, and well equipped with everything we needed. The location was perfect ans amazing - closed to Kamburugamuwa beach, Mirissa beach and Madiha beach. We got the breakfast also. It was very delicious. I higherly recommend this villa to anyone visiting Mirissa , Kamburugamuwa , Madiha , Polhena and Matara areas and I look forward to staying here again in the future.

Excellent budget accommodation in udawalawa. Our double room was basic but clean with fresh towels and necessary things.

Lovely authentic place. In our two weeks holiday with a lot of luxery resorts, this was the one we have the warmest feeling about. When you are looking for a not so touristic area, some magnificent views, a little farm life, and some great staff, go here. Oh and go for the Sri Lanken Kitchen, that’s better then the European:)

It’s the perfect retreat to enjoy a more relaxed vibe in Angahma. Beautiful, peaceful, and comfortable — it truly felt like home. The breakfast was local with a mix of continental and it was delicious. The staff were absolutely incredible! I wish I were still there and can’t wait to return!

A wonderful hotel - located a bit outside of Hikkaduwa, but for us that was actually a plus. It was quiet, cozy, and peaceful, almost like spending summer at your grandmother’s countryside house. At the same time, a nice beach (with surfing available) and cafes are within walking distance, and you can easily reach other places by tuk-tuk if needed. We were allowed to check in a few hours earlier than scheduled, which was very much appreciated. The breakfasts were fantastic, and the host was incredibly welcoming. The room was comfortable, very clean, and had everything we needed. I would definitely come back.

- great architecture and interior design - the location is far from the noisy village (but only at 5min drive with scooter) - Janaka was the perfect host! - we took dinner and breakfast at the property and was delicious - everything is perfect at this place
