Everything at Amba Kola was exceptional - especially the people. Louise, Janik, and Janik’s whole family are the loveliest people you will meet. The food is fantastic - everything is locally sourced and prepared with the finest spices and lots of love (Janik’s mom is an award-winning cook by the way). At Amba Kola the hosts will go above and beyond to make your stay memorable. They took us around in their safari jeep to see the elephants and wildlife and we even went swimming in the canal! The room (and the whole property) are lovely with so many personal touches to it. Louise is an artist and her art is present all over the place! Also, the outdoor bathroom is unique. I showered in the dark under the stars - an experience like no other. All I can say is: Come to Amba Kola and see for yourself. These people deeply care for what they do and it shows in every aspect. You won’t be disappointed!

Absolutely Outstanding Experience! Our stay at the Dormero Hotel in Sri Lanka was nothing short of amazing! The staff here is truly the best we have ever encountered – attentive, friendly, and always going above and beyond to ensure a perfect experience. The hotel itself is stunning, with a fantastic ambiance and exceptional hospitality. Without even asking, they graciously upgraded our room because there was availability – such a thoughtful gesture that made our trip even more special. Breakfast was an absolute highlight – delicious, varied, and beautifully presented. The top manager deserves special recognition for being incredibly kind, approachable, and helpful throughout our stay. Thank you, Dormero Hotel, for creating such unforgettable memories for us. We will definitely return and highly recommend it to everyone!

Owner's friendly conversations. Very helpful staff. Cozy environment. Services they provide. Privacy. Connections with the surrounding services. (ex. If we need some food, they know and suggest the best, if we need a three wheel driver because it is raining, they will give you a contact for best price, spots for visiting nearby) Cozy room with paddle fan & AC. Mini fidge and some storage for food. Tea making items with everyday filling milk bottle. Clean and neat bathroom with shampoo body wash etc. ( Found good body lotion for myself there 😜) New linen for beds and clean towels, pool towels. Swimming pool with comfy beach beds. Night lights 🔥. Outside open pavillion. ( It was the best place I found, took our dinner and watched movies there with lights around ❤️) Very nice breakfast. (They asked us for western food or local one. Of course western one. We loved it 😍)

Such a little piece of heaven. The perfect place for a relaxing stay and to unwind. The host and staff were amazingly friendly and helpful. Had the best time!

If you are nature lover I would highly recommend this property. It’s nearest udawalawe national park entrance and staff arranged a next day early morning Safari as well. went really well.
