What a wonderful off grid experience. Staying with Joel and Luzy is a must do! They are fabulous hosts and make your stay so easy and memorable. They have 3 rooms and we enjoyed a 2 night stay in the larger family room. The beds are super comfy, loads of blankets and a hotwater bottle is delivered after dinner. Room has a gas heater too but we didn’t use it. There is lots of furniture inside and out to relax on. Luzy cooks a great breakfast of fruit and juice, coffee and omelettes with avocado . We ate dinner there both nights. The food is simple home cooked , tasty and fresh. I am gluten free and Luzy accommodated me brilliantly. There was always a thermos of hotwater on request for making tea and coffee. They even had a bottle of wine to sell to us. Joel transfers from the mainland to and from the island and we also did a 2 hour tour around the Uros Island community. Joel was knowledgeable and showed us the best highlights. While I have eluded to off grid it should be noted that you are on a floating island!! There is a compost loo and shower water is from the lake and solar heated. There is no wifi but my own data worked well.

Incredible location with view at the falls. If lucky even from your bed. Rooms are spacious, hot showers really hot. Very friendly couple runs the place, they serve a tasty breakfast.

After 4 weeks travelling around Peru we came to El Samay and it was just perfect. From the warm welcome from Marianne when we arrived to the moment we left it was the best way to spend 4 nights of peace and quiet in the most beautiful setting. The staff were all fantastic, Veronica was on the end of whatsap should we need any help with absolutely anything and we were very sad to leave this morning. The area is super peaceful - perfect to unwind, swim in the sea and the beautifully clean pool and to just sit on our balcony watching humpback whales ( I saw 7 in three days - keep your eyes peeled ) was magical. The food was great , being brought a 7.30am coffee each morning was such a treat and I would definitely stay here again. Thanks again for a wonderful few days.

The lodge is really beautiful. You have amazing views and everything is clean and modern. The staff is so warming and caring. They cook amazing lunch and dinner. Breakfast was also one of the best we had in all our accommodations in Peru.

I waited for my boyfriend to do the Choquequirao, and stayed 5 nights/days. A well needed retreat of calm and tranquility. The hotel is well located, a bit apart from the village, comfortable rooms and a nice terrasse to chill. Elisabeth is really nice, helpful with information, tips and logistic, she really made me feel at home. She grows vegetables next door that she can cook for dinner at a good price. Congratulations to Angelica and her team for creating such a special glamping hotel in such a beautiful, remote place. Incredible location looking across Lake Titicaca to the spectacular Cordillera Real in Bolivia. We reserved at the last minute and all worked perfectly, including a delicious fresh lake trout dinner and wonderful hospitality. The geodesic domes are well appointed with very comfortable beds, fireplace, delicious hot showers and toilet. Spotlessly clean and tastefully decorated.
