We had an amazing time at Ihema Lodges! This place far exceeded our expectations. From the moment we arrived until check-out we felt truly looked after. The rooms were clean and comfortable with nice details throughout. Enjoying dinner with a beautiful backdrop of the lake was a highlight in itself. The staff was very helpful and flexible and made preparing for our safari in Akagera National Park a breeze. We already miss the tranquility and calm of Ihema and will be sure to return soon. Big thank you to the staff for creating such a memorable stay!

Absolutely amazing stay at Akagera Park Inn. Location is very convenient at just 3 min from the park entrance. Rooms are impeccable, the pool is amazing and the food delicious. Emmy and chef Daniel went above and beyond to make our stay as good as possible. Thank you!

We drove to Ruhondo from Kigali for a weekend in mid-May. We took a wrong turn on the way, and our hosts at the retreat were so helpful directing us in. That level of superb hospitality continued throughout our entire visit. It’s a short boat ride to the island, but the retreat feels like a faraway paradise. You are immersed in the natural beauty of the island, surrounded by lush vegetation and peaceful blue waters. We loved exploring the island and taking a boat tour of the lake. I received an excellent massage in a lovely outdoor setting by the water. My favorite activity was relaxing on the terrace, snacking on warm peanuts and enjoying magnificent views of volcanic peaks in the distance. This is the perfect place to take morning coffee, read a book, or chat with other guests and our lovely hosts. We thoroughly enjoyed our meals, and our cabin was clean and comfortable. We slept deeply at night. Our only regret was not staying a few extra dayss!

Warm welcome by owner Philippe and the rest of the team. The place is brand new with very tastefully decorated lodges. The view on Lake Kivu is amazing and the food delicious (the best we had so far in Rwanda!). The eco and community aspects of this project are a strong plus. Lots of activities to do. Once the swimming pool will be ready, this will truly be a little paradise. Getting there by boat from Gisenyi or Kibuye is the best way to get there.

Really wonderful staff who went above and beyond during our stay! Shout out to Bienfait for being so helpful in arranging transport, activities and currency exchange. Our room was massive with a super comfy bed!

Very comfortable apartment in a great area. I booked for 10 days and extended my stay because it had everything I needed.

Best accommodation during our entire trip to Rwanda - an amazingly large room with an unbeatable view of Lake Kivu right from the bed. Absolute cleanliness everywhere. Staff great, arranged all possible excursions for us around the area, including fishing with local fishermen. The food was absolutely top notch. Possibility to use the kayaks for free.
