Lions Place is a fabulous lodge. Located in the middle of a private reserve bordering the Kruger National Park, the hotel provides a luxury experience. Besides being very nice, well decorated and comfortable, it offers several alternatives to tour the area with highly trained guides (Congratulations to JB and Ian for their fantastic work as guides!) The room is very spacious, with a very comfortable bed, a large bathroom with a large bathtub, closets, tea and coffee making facilities, cold water and an incredible view of the savannah. Lions Place also has a swimming pool, and two viewpoint that allow you to view the beautiful scenery, plus the garden where if you are lucky you can find wild animals (we saw a porcupine). JB, who is in charge of the place is the best! Very friendly, welcoming and an excellent guide both in the area and during the full day safari we did in Kruger. At Lions Places you can also request, in addition to the value of your stay, a dinner, which is an unforgettable experience. A French and South African fusion dinner with a starter, main course and dessert, which, weather permitting, is served outdoors. In our case we did a full day safari (exceptional!) and a morning bush walk. Both instances were amazing! We saw lions, elephants, giraffes, zebras, hippos, and many other mammals and birds that made the visit unforgettable. A special note to the ladies who run the place, they are very kind and excellent cooks! Totally recommended and we would stay there again.

We stayed here on our honeymoon for one night and it was so worth it. The lodge was incredible and there were lovely touches from staff, a plate of goodies and drinks when we got back from dinner

Beautiful setting with stunning views of the mountains and within easy walking distance of great restaurants. Loved Franschhoek for choice of great places to taste wine and eat. L'Emitage villa was elegant and tasteful with large window for the view and massive sized and gorgeous bedrooms and bathrooms. Everything you needed too and the service was lovely.

We spent 2 nights in Motswari Private Game Reserve and it was an unforgettable experience! Wonderful food, service, exclusivity and personal attention. Our ranger, Marius was exceptional and made every game drive and our walking safari unforgettable. His trackers, Elvis and Misha was just as amazing with their knowledge of the animals and the bush. We saw 3 of the 5 "big five" in just 1.5 days of being there, thanks to these guys. The food and service at the lodge was beyond our expectations in every way. I was a vegetarian and they catered for me with exceptional skill and charm. The food was really outstanding, thank you Glenda and team! Our other hosts, Desmond and MJ looked after every detail and made our stay wonderful. Our room was large, luxurious and comfortable. We each had a great massage too (thank you Lerato), in a space where you can watch giraffes walk by... The setting of this private lodge is amazing, you overlook a river with giraffes and elephants walking by. We even had a hyena come close to us while sitting around the camp fire - so special. This was a once in a life time experience and we hope to be back again soon!

The property was absolutely stunning, and felt like a home away from home. The ultimate destination for pure relaxation and luxury. We loved everything about our stay and the staff were extremely friendly, helpful and provided good recommendations for our stay in Hermanus.

Everything was so wonderful, I cannot wait to recommend it to friends and return one day myself. Breathtaking views, comfortable rooms, amazing breakfast and food & the kindest staff. The most beautiful & cozy interior as well - will be thinking of this place for a long time

We stayed 4 nights and everything about the stay was an absolute dream, only made possible by the team at Ivory Wilderness. Each excursion felt unique and Shane and Warren are clearly so passionate and knowledgeable, making every sighting big or small an incredible experience. The location on the river is beautiful and very peaceful and meals were varied and delicious.

We spent about 3 weeks in South Africa and I can say that was the best place we stayed in. The estate is the old 17th-century winery that was converted to guest houses. Beautiful surroundings combined with modern comfort, you can't go wrong here. Everything was exceptional, the location, the amenities, the size and the comfort of the rooms. The rooms have heated flour which was very important for us since we travelled in the winter with pretty cold nights. The breakfast consisted of a cold buffet style and a hot from the menu. I got eggs benedict with cauliflower hash browns and smoked salmon and it was outstanding. They serve superb guano jam that is made on the estate. I would recommend this hotel and I am sorry that we didn't stay longer.

The rooms are clean and very exceptionally to a very high standard. 👌. The rooms are very comfortable and the bed is very good. The microwave a very needed addition because not many shops remain open at night and after a night out. They give you remote gate keys for late coming and going out at night.

Sheryl you’re amazing and I will dearly miss you! The owners are simply the best. Kind, welcoming and full of care for their guests. Room was spacious and clean, bathroom as well. We had ocean view and I would 100% recommend it. The town is small but the owners can advise you some nice restaurants.
