'- Very friendly and hospitable staff. - The room was so nice, with a lot of small details that made us feel really happy every time we got there. The view over Grossglockner was fantastic. It was great sitting in the sun on the balcony during the evenings after having walked for many hours. - The breakfast was also great, with many delicious alternatives to choose between and always served with a positive enthusiasm from the owner. - The location was great for hiking. We did not have a car but it was easy to get around by foot or bus. Taking the bus to Kaiser Franz Josefs Höhe and walking back to Heiligenblut from there, as well as going with the cable car up to the Schareck summit and walking the Geotrail there was fantastic.

The Schmittenhof is a 4-star hotel at the foot of the Schmittenhöhe, right next to the ski slopes and just 300 metres from the cable car. Breakfast is great. Meals are perfect. Spa is fabulous. Rooms are lovely.
