First, the manager was amazing, he greeted us very nicely and gave great tips for the city. The hotel is in a good location close to everything, the room was clean and pleasant and comfy beds, and the breakfast was great. Highly recommend.

The non-smoking rooms at the Goldener Schlüssel feature cable TV, parquet floors, a desk and a bathroom with hairdryers. Centrally located in the historic part of the city within walking distance for most tourist destinations. The buffet breakfasts were so generous I didn't need lunch. The hotel restaurant had excellent dinners as well, which featured venison. The staff were friendly and spoke a number of languages.

Behind an impressive Art Nouveau façade, it offers a bar, a restaurant, a 24-hour front desk and free WiFi. Location is around 5-15mins walk (depending if you need to drag your luggage or not). It was very convenient and it is great that there was a really big supermarket next to the hotel. Shopping streets are nearby as well. Room was clean & pretty spacious, bathroom was sizable as well. (we had a double room) Also, customer service was good. We managed to check in early (subjected to availability).

The Marthahaus Hotel offers you individually and tastefully furnished rooms in a quiet residential area of Bern, close to the city centre, the main station the main train station and tram line 9 to the BEA-Expo, the Stade Wankdorf or the Postfinance Arena. I found this hotel is very cozy and comfortable for a single traveler like me. The neighbourhood is quiet and save and it is closer to bus/tram stop. I love the breakfast which is included in the price, especially the fresh morning Muesli that made with love. The most good thing that the bathroom is very clean as if nobody used it. The staff ladies on the receptionist are so heart warming and nice (hi Marcia! 😍). They help me with the bus route and lend me charger for my Iphone since I left it in the airport. It is so warm and comfortable working in the breakfast room that you can have free flow tea, coffee, hot chocolate with cookies (the best things that they have coffee machine). I would definitly come again for my next visit to Bern. I really love this hotel ❤️
