Piece Hostel Sanjo offers private and dormitory rooms in the heart of Kyoto. The room (one for two people with private bathroom) was very clean and although tiny for European standards, it was quite comfortable. The location is amazing! In a nice neighbourhood with many things to do around, in walking distance to main attractions and quite well connected. The staff was friendly and helpful. There is the option to store your luggage for free. I would totally recommend it.

I liked everything. very friendly family, helped with all informatikn needed to make my stay as enjoyable as possible. the location is perfect for walking around the old part (10-30min, depending on what you want to see). the rooms was amazing. very clean!!

Opened in April 2013 with brand new facilities, Piece Hostel Kyoto is conveniently located just a 5-minute walk from JR Kyoto Station. So convenient and the facilities are new, clean and organised. The room was very spacious and clean, with towels replaced daily and cleaning every two days. Additionally, there was coffee, tea, and water in the room, as well as facial care kits. During our trip to Japan, we stayed in three different hotels, and this one was definitely the best—such a comfortable stay, and I would gladly come back again. Highly recommend!

Ideally located just a 2-minute walk from lively Nishiki Market and Ponto-cho Street, Matsui Honkan boasts large public baths and chic Japanese-style rooms. We had an amazing stay here. The place was incredibly clean and the staff were extremely helpful and accommodating. We truly enjoyed our time there and believe that booking just one night is perfect for anyone visiting Kyoto.

Since I put a foot inside the hotel, everyone was super nice towards me. The staff is really there for you for anything that you need. I was allowed to use the public bath even when I was tattoed! It amazed me how the managed to make such a traditional hotel in the hearth of the city. The breakfast was sublilme and, to be honest, I'm not a tea guy, but I enjoyed having the tea ceremony and even liked the taste of the tea! At the end, they gave me a little gift that included pictures of me wearing the yukata.
