Opening in March 2014, Mitsui Garden Hotel Kyoto Shinmachi Bettei offers accommodations with a modern yet traditional décor. Free Wi-Fi is available at the entire property and guests can refresh in the public bath. Shijo and Karasuma Station are both within a 10-minute walk away. We had SUCH a great stay at Mitsui Garden Hotel. The location was wonderful, we were in a trendy area with lots of great shops and so many restaurants, yet it was quiet and chill. There are also some nice museums in the area. The room itself was perfect, a big room, comfortable beds, clean. We also took advantage of the wash machine, although it was popular with other guests, it helped us get our clothes clean mid-trip. The staff is super friendly as well.

Towa Ryokan is a ryokan located just a 10-minute walk from JR Kyoto Station.

A welcome drink of green tea will be prepared upon arrival.

It also offers a spacious basement bath for guests to refresh and free Wi-Fi throughout the property. First time staying at a Ryokan and we were very happy with our stay. We were greeted by very friendly staff that promptly served us tea and a snack while they checked us in. The room was a two-story traditional Japanese apartment with tatami floors and futon beds. The room was beautiful, clean, smelled great and had all the needed amenities. Location is a 15 minutes walk to Kyoto Station and useful bus stops, which was convenient enough to get us to different sites around town. Unfortunately, we did not have a chance to try the meals. I would highly recommend this Ryokan.
