Miyajima Guesthouse Mikuniya is a traditional Japanese-style guesthouse located on Miyajima (Itsukushima). We spent two nights on the island, and it was absolutely amazing! In the evenings, after all the tourists have left, you can take a peaceful walk near the water and feel like you have the entire island to yourself. The guest house we stayed at was fantastic! Traveling with our 5-month-old, we felt incredibly welcomed. Our room was huge, especially compared to other accommodations in Japan, and the common area downstairs was spacious and inviting. They offered a mini buffet for both breakfast and dinner, which was just perfect for us. The atmosphere was relaxed and laid-back. The guest house is conveniently located halfway between the ferry terminal and the gondola. In the morning, we enjoyed a lovely walk through the park to the gondola and managed to beat the crowds. Highly recommend! They also has two onsen options which you essentially book just for your family.

Just a 7-minute walk from Itsukushima Shrine, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Combining modern design with a homely decor, Kikunoya Hotel offers both Western and Japanese-style rooms. This really is the quintessential Japanese Ryokan experience. You get a yukata when you arrive and you're free to walk around the hotel or even outside with it. I highly recommend bathing in the hot springs; I hiked to the top of Mount Misen in the day, and relaxing the sore muscles in the hot spring in the evening really was divine! Dinner was amazing; absolutely delicious and you could tell how much passion they put into creating it.

Thank you for a beautiful stay here. There are only a few rooms, which makes it super private and comfortable. The staff is exceptionally friendly. The rooms are spacious and super clean and comfortable. They even provide free coffee in the lobby. Location is superb, just 3min walking from the ferry port (but still super quiet and peaceful)

ITSUKUSHIMA IROHA is located in Miyajima’s Omotesando Avenue, a 5-minute walk from Itsukushima Shinto Shrine and Miyajima Pier. We had a one night stay here and wished we could have stayed longer. The room was clean, spacious, luxurious and comfortable and had a great view of the shrine. We also loved the rooftop public onsen. The staff were very helpful and friendly.

Το Miyajima Morinoyado άνοιξε ξανά τον Απρίλιο του 2014 μετά από ανακαίνιση και προσφέρει άνετα δωμάτια και ευρύχωρο δημόσιο λουτρό. Only had one night I wish we had more. Located slightly away from the crowds and closer to nature in Miyajima, this hotel had wonderful view, comfortable room and amazing service in a peaceful atmosphere. Rich and beautifully served breakfast. They also offered to take us to the docks whenever was needed which was greatly appreciated.
