Nishitetsu Resort Inn Beppu boasts a spacious public bathing area including natural hot spring baths and open-air baths. It is just a 10-minute walk from JR Beppu Station. Nice and central to everything. Breakfast was good. Onsen decent. We accidentally left our shirt ad small pouch bag behind .. but they found it and we got it back.
