Located just a 1-minute walk from popular Miyagawa Morning Market in the heart of Takayama, Sumiyoshi Ryokan offers homely Japanese-style accommodation in the historic townhouse building. An incredible location, nearby all the most important attractions, with a great view to Miyagawa river. Although it is shared bathroom, it feels very private and calm. The family that owns the ryokan is friendly, thoughtful and welcoming.

Located in the centre of Takayama Historic District, Ryokan Tanabe 旅館田邊 is one of the most historical ryokans in the city. It features Japanese-style rooms and free WiFi in all areas. This was a true authentic ryokan experience. Lovely staff, perfect location and delicious dinner two nights. We slept well on double futons and enjoyed the Onsen ( sitting outside in a warm tub while it was raining was so relaxing!) We will come again if we return to Takayama!

Σχεδιασμένο από τον Shinji Kagawa, το κομψό AKARI et KAORI πρώην Taizanso απέχει 10 λεπτά με το αυτοκίνητο από το σιδηροδρομικό σταθμό Shuzenji. The hotel's location was quite convenient. A short bus or cab ride from Shuzenji station. From the hotel, it was a lovely stroll to Shuzenji Temple nearby. What stood out to me most was the staff's genuine hospitality. They didn't speak much English but were very accommodating at all times. Neither my mom nor I eat beef, so with advance notice, they replaced beef with lobster. The room was very spacious and comfortable. Although the public bath was small, it was cozy and well-equipped. It was a shame we only stayed one night.

The Meitetsu Grand Hotel offers bright rooms with free WiFi, 3 restaurants and a sky lounge café with panoramic city views. -Room size is good -Short walk to Nagoya Meitetsu Station (getting in/out to Airport is very convenient) -Many restaurants and shops to choose plus a drug store! -Not so noisy neighborhood compare to Sakae area -Short walk to JR Nagoya Station (Ride Shinkansen to Tokyo/Osaka/Kyoto is convenient)

********** The large public bath on the 3rd floor will be undergoing renovations from Monday, January 5th to Friday, January 23rd, 2026. During this period, the large public bath will be unavailable. This was a last minute booking due to extraordinary situation, but the hotel delivered a great experience. The location was very short walk away from the central station, however it was still very quiet. The room and the facilities in general were far better than I expected for the money I paid. And the staff was very friendly and accommodating.

Hida Takayama Hodakaso Yamano Iori is just a 3-minute walk from JR Takayama Train Station and a 10-minute walk from Old Town and Takayama Jinya and Miyagawa Morning Market. Beautiful accomodation in Takayma, feels very local, beautiful bathrooms (SPA), very friendly and helpful stay, comfortable and clean rooms. Would definitely stay again
