Staying at El Albergue Ollantaytambo was genuinely one of the best decisions we made on the trip, hands down. First off, the location is perfect. Ollantaytambo itself is a fascinating town with a history to match—it’s the only one still using the Inca grid system! Plus, it offers two great, fun treks: the ruins and the granaries. But the real boon is its position right AT the station, making it the ultimate base for Machu Picchu. Getting up a couple of hours earlier than everyone else for the trek is great, but there's nothing better than coming back and immediately checking in instead of having to deal with another grueling 2-4 hour bus ride back to Cusco. It's also much more comfortable being at 9,500 ft instead of the 11,500 ft elevation of Cusco. Beyond the incredible convenience, El Albergue is simply an exceptional hotel in its own right. The service is beyond reproach; everyone on the property was so incredibly friendly and attentive. It truly makes the entire experience. The rooms are impeccably designed and wonderfully comfortable. I have to specifically shout out the gorgeous art throughout the rooms and common areas—it’s stunning, and seemingly much of it is from the proprietor, Wendy Weeks. The on-site amenities are another huge plus. The restaurant has exceptional food, and breakfast starts early (6 a.m.) with a great variety. You absolutely MUST book the wonderful Pachamanca lunch beforehand. They also have a local coffee roastery and a distillery right there; we had a great tour at both and really enjoyed the products, especially the Matacuy. Oh, and there are the most adorable dogs on the property, too! Overall, El Albergue was one of our favorite stays in Peru. We had a great time and are genuinely looking forward to coming back.

El Amaru Colonial es una posada colonial situada en el barrio artístico de San Blas, a 2 calles de la plaza de San Blas. Lugar pintoresco, cómodo, lindo y bien ubicado. Además buen precio.

La Hosteria de Anita es un establecimiento de gestión familiar y ambiente animado situado en el distrito artístico de San Blas, en el centro de Cuzco. Rooms are nice - clean and comfortable. The breakfast was simple but good. The location of the hotel is great - just a quick walk to the main square, but on a quiet street.

In Cusco´s San Blas art district, Amaru Inca is set in a colonial house with internal patio and garden, featuring scenic views. El Hotel es ubicado en el centro de Cusco. Estás en el centro de todo, barew, restaurantes, tiendas y tal, y al mismo tiempo es un hotel muy tranquillo. El servicio de limpiar es excelente y el staff muy amable y siémpre a su servicio. Sobre todo quiero mencionar el servicio del desayuno de Epi y Mary que son unas señoras lindos y amables que de hacen sentir en casa. Gracias a todos y hasta luego🤗

El Sonesta Hotel Cusco se encuentra a menos de 1 km del centro de la ciudad y a solo 8 minutos en coche del aeropuerto Velasco Astete. Todas las habitaciones ofrecen vistas a la ciudad o a la montaña.... Courteous Staff, comfortable rooms, great breakfast.

El Wyndham Costa del Sol Cusco ocupa una mansión reformada del siglo XVII situada en el centro de Cusco, a poca distancia a pie de la plaza Mayor de la ciudad y de la iglesia de La Merced. Bed was very comfortable. Staff really efficient. Help with luggage etc.

One of the staff speaks excellent English and was very helpful. Very quiet, lovely garden and cosy tea room area for guest use.
