El White Shark Guest House tiene vistas al océano Atlántico y está situado en Kleinbaai, a 400 metros del puerto. Excellent stay! We came for the shark diving right across the street and stayed for two nights. Super helpful owner booked us great restaurants in the area. The room was spacious with a large terrace with sea view.

This was our first stop along the Garden Route and the hotel was perfectly located. Just across the street was an access to the coastal walk from where you can walk into town for dinner which takes about 30 min. The room was clean and comfortable with nice views in both directions. The staff was very friendly and accommodating, for our anniversary the even gave us a little gift which was a lovely touch. The breakfast was excellent as well. :)

El Nautilus Guest House es un establecimiento de 4 estrellas con techo de paja situado a solo 300 metros del paseo marítimo. Ofrece una piscina al aire libre de temporada y habitaciones elegantes. Location is perfect, few minutes walking from old harbour where plenty of restaurants shops and cafes can be found. New harbour is just a short drive (5 min or less) for whale watching tours. Breakfast was delicious and host was great. Room was spacious comfortable and clean. Totally recommended to spend few relaxing days exploring Hermanus and surroundings or just relaxing at the swimming pool.

El Kapensis Guesthouse ofrece alojamiento con un toque de estilo africano en una reserva natural, a las afueras de Pringle Bay. The owners of the guesthouse were kind and accommodating. They asked us if we needed something from the shop when they went there to buy some things. When we required accessible rooms in the booking process, they contacted us and sent us some videos to make sure their accommodation was OK for us. The toilet and the shower/bathtub could be challenging for some wheelchair users but it worked for us. The rooms were beautiful, spacious and clean, with large windows that offered us stunning views. The whole facility has the aura of tranquility. If we stayed in the area for longer time, we would like to spend a day just at the guesthouse relaxing and enjoying the views. If you are there by car (which is the only option, I would say), Betty's Bay penguins are really close. The hosts told us about some other wheelchair accessible attractions, for example the Harold Porter Botanical Garden.

El 78on5th es un establecimiento boutique situado junto a la reserva natural de Fernkloof, a 5 minutos a pie de la playa de Grotto. This was a great location in Hermanus. Although it was a couple of kilometers from the town center, it was easy to go there in our hire car to have a boat trip in the sea. However, our location was very suitable, as it was a fairly short walk to the nice local beaches, providing a long walk at the waterfront, with a couple of local restaurants. Behind the apartment was a direct walk up the mountain, with some wonderfull views of the sea and mountains. The room was large, with a seperate comfortable bedroom, large bathroom, large kitchen area and a nice place to sit outside our room. Although they could make breakfast, it was just as convenient for us to make our own breakfast and eat outside with a great view. Also, there is a very good food shop very close by, so we bought all we wanted to eat.

Delightful hosts Vivianne and Jan came to Swellendam from the Netherlands 6 years ago to take over this quaint lodge. They’ve transformed the 1880’s Manor House into a welcoming place for guests to check in, hang out and have a cup of coffee or tea, play games, look at books, and gather for the wonderful made-to-order breakfast they serve. This hidden gem of a place, just off the highway (R60) and only minutes from the center of town, has only 6 rooms, is solar powered, and is set amongst a beautiful, lush garden. The room was lovely, had a large bathroom with both a shower and a tub, and had an outlet near a mirror in the bedroom so one can do their hair. (There are no electric outlets in bathrooms in South Africa.) This was the only time in our three weeks in South Africa, that we had a hair dryer. Along with your room key, you get a driveway gate opener. One needn’t worry about safety here. I wish we had planned more time to just hang out.
