The key pick-up and instructions were very simple and straight forward. You could already tell that the owner paid a lot of attention to details and allowing the guests to feel very welcomed. I highly highly recommend this place for its terrace. It is extremely rare to have such a space in the heart of Basel. We felt so spoiled!! After a long conference day, it is fantastic to settle down in the evening on the terrace. The drink options and kitchen were also fully stocked. We would definitely come back!

Lovely, clean apartment in the heart of Basel. Maria is a fabulous host. Very friendly. She was most accommodating to requests, such as a late check-out. Also very helpful with recommendations of places to eat and navigating local transport. I felt safe and comfortable throughout the stay.

Best hotel we have stayed in during our 5 week holiday in Europe! The room was very big, modern and comfortable. Bed was extremely comfortable! Lovely bathroom. Kitchen was well equipped and modern.

The room was quiet, modern, exceptionally clean and surprisingly larger than expected. The bathroom was sleek and modern in style with excellent water pressure in a large shower. The sink and counter were large, clean, well lit. Towels were large and smelled good. The staff at Motel One were extremely professional, warm and friendly and so accommodating! While this hotel is only three stars, I found it was more aligned with five star properties I have stayed in throughout Switzerland and other parts of Europe. I was so impressed with the overall experience, I would consider routing myself through Basel again on the near future…and will add more time onto the visit to enjoy this great hotel, it’s superb service and staff and it’s great location in this fantastic city!

We absolutely loved this hotel. We had a family wing out the back, and it was so quiet. Christiana was so friendly and helpful when I wasn't well. Huge rooms, close to public transport and walking distance to the river.

Excellent location - at a walking distance to the historical centre and located in a lovely picturesque street. The building is beautiful and traditional Swiss architecture, which added a lot of value to our short experience in Basel. The room was very cosy and super warm. We particularly loved the bath!

Really, really cozy, quiet, clean and so cozy place! A great, even ideal location for a tourist stay and for work. Very close to Barfüserplatz with perfect tram comunication, and few steps only from the most important oldtown points rathaus, cathedral, Spalentor. Also the same to SBB main station and Mittlere Brücke. Very nice, helphul and profesional service - many thanks for all the advice and care :-)
