Our room was small but excellent, quiet, clean and comfortable. The bed was a bit soft for us however we loved the two duvets, the separate toilet and shower areas and the big window. The staff were all amazing, from receptionist to the bar tender and wait staff in the restaurant! We highly recommend their breakfast buffet.

Steinenschanze Charming City & Garden Hotel is less than 5 minutes' walk from Basel's city centre and the university, close to historical buildings and the old town.

This is an excellent place to base yourself and explore Basel. The staff were outstanding... professional,friendly and helpful. They provided tips about where to go and how to get there. The room was immaculate. They are small, but perfectly formed to provide everything you need for a comfortable and quiet stay. Breakfast was enjoyable and the garden area perfect for relaxing.

The stay was amazing! Our room was so cosy and warm. Great selection in the mini bar which is free by the way. Given that it’s winter, we didn’t feel chilly at all. 5 mins away from the Christmas market. Such a convenient location! If we’re back in Basel we’ll definitely stay here again! Amazing stay!

The host was very friendly and responsive. She was flexible with check-in and check-out requests to make our stay the best possible. The apartment is clean, warm, comfortable and has everything you need for a nice stay. Location is in the center, near the tram.

The hotel is in a fantastic location, within walking distance of the city's main attractions and the main railway station. It's also very easy to reach from the EuroAirport via Bus 50, which conveniently stops at the railway station.
