Many things. Design is great! We booked because of the hotel design. Facilities also great. Free flow drink for evening until 11pm - beer, sake, juice, ice-cream etc. staffs are great, able to speak English very well. The location also great, able to walk to the whole Takayama city centre.

Great location next to the old town district. excellent facilities friendly and helpful staff. We stayed in the Imperial Suite...very generous size and great facilities. excellent breakfast in a private room. We had one dinner at the hotel and it was very good.

Staying in this gem of a place was the highlight of our japan trip..being surrounded by t art decor was surreal..every corner of this MUSEUM--HOME kept us in admiration..Also it was spotlessly CLEAN and ,this home had everything that you needed..a fully equipped kitchen,a home theatre and even an open to sky extra bath..the 2 bedrooms are very tastefully decorated in Japanese style.. Inspite of the language barrier,THE OWNER went over and beyond to communicate and help us with all our queries...he was a very kind,pleasant and caring man....at the time of our checkout,we asked him to order for 2 taxis to drop us off to the train station..to our surprise,he dropped us off in his personal car and refused to charge us for it...this act really touched us. The LOCATION is superb,it's on t street parallel to historic street..Sanmachi street..There are a lot of restaurants close by too. I rate this home a 10/10..and will highly recommend it for your stay in TAKAYAMA

The home was beautiful and it had a lovely view over the mountains. It was also very close to the old town and shrines. The bathroom felt like a spa and the kitchen was well equipped with hand made ceramics. It exceeded expectation, a wonderful place!

Our hosts were amazing. Apple pie to welcome us and lots of information to help us plan our stay. The rooms are warm and cozy and the hot shower was great. A nice quiet location but so close to everything meant we walked everywhere. Shared a wonderful meal out with our hosts on our last night at one of their favorite local restaurants. Excellent and beautiful property. It was bitterly cold when we arrived but the property inside was so welcoming and warm. It has very nice decor and was impeccably clean and tidy, every creature comfort is accommodated for. The location is excellent for walking through the wonderful town and easy to walk for meals. Would stay again and highly recommend. One of the best places we stayed in Japan.
