Didn't take the meals but the ryokan is very close to the main shopping street. Easy to find food.
Pleasantly surprised that the ryokan is very well kept, clean and bright. Staff are friendly and speak good english.
Ryokan provided advice on how to drive there too.

I had an amazing stay! My room opened right onto the lake, and the owner was so kind and helpful. Breakfast was fabulous, with an amazing view. The onsen was fabulous; it started snowing when I was in the outdoor section. Will 100% be back!

Our stay at the ryokan was phenomenal and exceeded our expectations even though we were already prepared to enjoy it. We loved everything. Before arriving at the train station, I had sent an email asking for a pick-up, and the ryokan sent a car to pick us up on time. We stayed in a standard suite, which felt extremely comfortable and spacious and still had 3 hot baths by itself - 1 inside and 2 open-air ones. It was also possible to use the large "public" onsen but privately (there was a button to turn on a light outside and indicate that the onsen was in use). The view from there was lovely. Breakfast was at 8h30am while dinner varied between 18h30 and 18h00 for us, and the staff provided phone calls to our room before either meals. The kaiseki meals were truly delicious, so varied and so copious. The staff was always attentive and doing their best to accommodate, and the environment of the ryokan itself was quiet and soothing, full of beautiful greenery. The water's temperature for the room's onsens was perfect for us. The wi-fi functioned perfectly. We could not ask for more and would love to come back.

The accommodation is well located. Super near the Yufuin JR station and there were many restaurants and mart nearby too. Accommodation was super comfortable and the bed is big! 3 rooms, 2 rooms with 2 super single beds and 1 room with tatami setup. The place was so clean and well-equipped. The host has been very helpful too whenever I had questions, deeply appreciate. Overall we enjoyed it a lot!

The stay at this hotel was unforgettable. The room was actually its own beautiful house with a garden to relax in.
The hotel area was lovely to walk around in. They also decorated it with a lot of attention to detail while keeping the nature-like esthetics intact. The food was amazing too and the staff was very accommodating.
If you love onsen, you'll be in for a treat as this place has several of them, all themed differently.
Definitetly a recommendation if you are in the area.

Friendly staff, spacious room with comfortable bedding. Wonderful mountain views from the room. Quirky location inside the village based on theme characters. Be aware the hotel has no meal facilities but there is a Lawson nearby and several restaurants within walking distance.
