Best location for Matera sightseeing. Close to any of historical place you have to see, to any of nice restaurants you have to try. It’s very romantic especially in the night. If you have a car(rental car) with you, by the way, Matera is also great location for visiting other Puglia cities such as Alberobello.

The 5-star Santavenere Hotel offers a fully equipped wellness centre, swimming pools, 3 restaurants and a beautiful terrace overlooking the sea. Everything was perfect. So much space everywhere… beach, lounges, restaurant…etc. Azure sea.. heaven for swimming. No shortage of umbrellas and sun beds. A delight for visitors exhausted by the mass of tourists elsewhere. A real oasis of peace and tranquillity. All staff incredibly helpful and discrete. We stayed only 2 nights but I would go back any time for a longer stay. It was the highlight of our journey though Campania and Calabria. Thanks so very much.

The property was unbelievable! Historic, unique beautiful details and grounds. Each room was unique. The food was exceptional and staff so accommodating. We were in town for a family reunion in nearby Anzi. We felt as if we were staying with family. The pictures online don’t do it justice. This place is a gem! We will definitely be back.
