Beautiful small hotel with exceptional service. The breakfast was included and it was delicious. Rooms were comfortable and the view of the ocean from the room was spectacular. Highly recommend this hotel.

We had the most incredible time at Shades, what a treat it was! It’s tucked away in a quiet spot amongst all the incredible nature. I’ve seen so much wild life during my stay there is no need to go for a safari tour. Waking up in the morning to the sounds of the jungle, starting my day with a swim in a beautiful huge pool and a delicious breakfast by the amazing team. Hospitality is outstanding, your every need is anticipated! Food was incredible, great variety and very balanced flavours. Room was so comfortable, I had the best sleep and a phenomenal view. Location was also great, all the beaches are so easily accessible and I enjoyed being away from all the hassle and busyness of the town, returning to this peaceful sanctuary after exploring around. Can’t wait to be back, thank you team!

Probably the most beautiful resort I’ve ever stayed at. A real piece of art handmade piece by piece with a tremendous taste by the owner. An oasis of tranquility, luxury, beauty, peace which we really needed as Sri Lankan traffic and wild nature can be overwhelming at times when you drive around by yourself.

Lovely service from a great team, Miriam and John's warmth and friendliness shine through. Our room facing the sea was perfect, and our terraced seating was all we needed. It was a 10-second stroll to the sunloungers on the beach, but the pool in the beautiful, well tended gardens was a haven of tranquility too. Miariam was able to arrange an excellent massage for me in the garden, it was 75 minutes of bliss. The breakfasts were amazing and certainly set us up for the day. Sitting in the comfy lounge area watching the sun go down with a cocktail is something that we will fondly remember. We also liked the no-shoe policy in the restaurant and lounge area, which added to the chilled vibe.

The room was clean, comfortable, beautiful. My room was on the first floor with pool view. I opened the door and there's a pool right away, very convenient. Also I had dinner in their restaurant in the evening, everything was delicious. the hotel is 5 minutes walk from Coconut Tree Hill . The girl at the reception was very nice and polite.I liked everything, I recommend

Handagedara Resort & Spa is a cosy property situated just 100 metres from the Mirissa Beach. Guests enjoy free Wi-Fi access at all areas and tastefully furnished guestrooms. In one word, I must say it was great and I recommend this hotel. I spent more than two days to choose this hotel and checked the nearby hotels, and now after the experience of staying in this hotel, I can confidently say that it was a good choice. The hotel staff were very polite and kind. The cleanliness of the hotel was excellent. Had a hearty breakfast. The view of the rooms was to the pool and also to the palm trees in front of which the peacocks came around at sunset and made the view more beautiful.
