From the moment we met Larbi there was an instant connection. His welcoming warmth made us feel at home. We picked him up and drove out to his camp not knowing what to expect. We were remote, away from the tours, with waves of golden sand at our feet. After tea, Beth and I walked the dunes to watch a lovely sunset. After a delicious tagine, we were surprised with a full moon rising and a sky of stars. The quiet was deafening, then broken with Berber rhythms from Larbi, his brother Nayim and friend Bryham. We danced by the fire and then shared life stories. We now have a new desert family.

This is by far the best thing that we have done in Morocco and the best thing we have done as a family of four to date. Younes and his team were the most exceptional hosts. He contacted us way before the trip via WhatsApp to ensure that everything was in place. His team were calm and understanding with our 3 year old and 9 month old. It's cold at night as we were there in December. But we had anticipated this and brought sleeping bag for our toddler and a snow suit for the baby. Desert camping was a dream as a family

Go for a walk in the dunes in the back by yourself or continue your journey with an excursion, or explore the places of interest near Ouled Driss, Dar Sidi Bounou is the perfect place to stay.

Absolutely recommended! We were picked up as agreed and the drive to the camp was impressive. The bumpy ride through the impressive landscape with the smell of wild rocket. And then the music from the radio, it still echoes ... :) The camp is located between the dunes. The food was tasty and plentiful, and the hospitality was warm. our hosts Mohamed and Ali told us impressive and exciting stories about life on the edge of the desert in the past and today. Next time we will stay longer than two nights…

A million reasons to stay and definitely book a tour! 1) Fantastic staff. We were sick and they helped us in every way possible, from driving more slowly to offering a special tea to help our upset stomachs to changing meals last minute 2) Easy to contact, they always responded very quickly, cordially, and in detail. We felt we were in safe hands, which is essential when you're basically trusting someone with your life in an unfamiliar, dangerous environment (the desert) 3) Spacious, comfortable, clean, nicely decorated rooms in Mhamid and Erg Chigaga 4) Staff really cares about sharing their culture. They want you to feel at home and are happy to answer even the most banal questions 5) The tour really was the trip of a lifetime. I'm not exaggerating. We learned so much and lived--really lived--so much. From trekking with/on camels to traveling by jeep to climbing dunes to trying desert arugula to watching sand bread being made to relaxing to soaking up silence and learning to cook Moroccan desert-style... I will never forget these experiences and the people who welcomed us with open arms. 6) Fair prices. Our 3-day tour cost 360€ total all included for two people. If you need a recommendation for a particular tour, we went on the 3-day Majesty of the Sahara tour, which I think struck a wonderful balance between showing us the natural, wild, nomad lifestyle (mobile camp) and seeing a wide variety of desert landscapes via jeep (fixed camp).
