The self service check-in and out is very convenient. There’s also a reception area but we didn’t meet anyone of the staff in our stay. Anyway they always respond via booking and they’re always willing to help. The accommodation in Akureyri is up on a very slope road and on the day we stayed in the city it was snowing so the road was also slippery. We recommend people to drive very carefully and use a 4x4 car with appropriate winter tires. There are multiple parking spots nearby. The room was on the first floor and it was a bit difficult to carry our heavy luggage. The room was by far the best one we’ve booked in our trip in Iceland. It was very spacious, the bed was big, it had different windows so natural light could pass through, the host provided us fresh towels, sheets, there was a hairdryer and a mini fridge as well. The bathroom was amazing, it felt luxurious. It had a tub big enough to fit 2 people, a small shower and a little balcony with a nice view of the streets and trees covered in snow. The guesthouse had good facilities and the self check-in information was clear. Also, the communication with the owner was easy. The location was good, near the swimming pool, but there's a steep climb from the bus station. For drivers there is parking space next to the guesthouse.

We traveled around Iceland as a family (my husband, our daughter, and I) and spent one of the coziest, most memorable nights of our trip at Guesthouse Baegisa. 🏡 This is not just a guesthouse — it's a true family home with a separate cottage for guests, surrounded by a landscape that reminded us of the Alps. Everything is clean, peaceful, and thoughtfully arranged. The host is an incredibly kind and warm-hearted woman, and it was a pleasure to talk to her. In the morning, we were served a delicious homemade breakfast, made with care — a welcome break from standard hotel buffets. 🐑 The highlight for our daughter was a nearby farm where she was allowed to bottle-feed baby lambs. She squealed with joy — and so did we. One of the most heartwarming moments of our entire trip. 🚘 Great location, especially if you're traveling through the north. Parking is right by the house. If you're looking to experience authentic Icelandic hospitality, surrounded by silence, nature, and warmth — this is the place. No exaggeration — the best stay we had in Iceland. 🧦 And the selection of warm wool socks available for guests was the cutest thing I've ever seen in a hotel ❤️
