THE TEAM: - Massimo is very kind. He met me at the entrance, helped me with the luggage, and above all offered me a room upgrade to a much larger and nicer room without an extra charge. He offered me late checkout again for no extra fee. The whole stay felt very relaxed (Grazie mille Massimo). - Signora Maria the home keeper, she saw me working on my laptop, so surprised me with freshly squeezed juice, and fresh sliced fruits. (Grazie tanto cara ❤️) THE LOCATION: Scilla has 2 parts. 1. The Chianalea although houses are beautifully located literally on the sea (I stayed there before), the area is difficult to reach if you have large luggage. 2. Lungo mare (where La Balza is located) on the other hand is very easy to access just a flat 5 min walk from the train station. There’s San Francisco bar right outside the building for breakfast, the fishermen port is steps away, and finally the elevator that takes you to the città superiore is literally steps from the unit. THE ATMOSPHERE: I came to Scilla to relax and finish writing a book and the place was perfect for it. The common area has large windows right on the sea. If you’re coming for the beach, again it’s the perfect place right on the beach. Daily cleaning service is included

Very nice family ran business. Clean and cosy rooms (small b&b) and great food in the restaurant. Very frandly and cearing staff. The set dinner, offered in the restuarant exceptional and all respects!

Lovely sea view, sparkling clean, really comfortable. Walking distance to most of the shops. Close to the elevator take you down to the beach. Sara was very nice and friendly. Breakfast was very good that you can enjoy the breakfast outside facing the sea view.

Wonderful apartment, three minutes walk to the beach and 10 minutes to the train station. Antonello (the owner) is incredible, told us where the best places to have lunch are, where to go to see the surrounding area, to the neighboring villages, to Sicily. The room is clean, everything works, there is a small refrigerator.

I only have good things to say about this place. It's very well located and is nicely sized. The host was really kind and I loved the breakfast voucher to the bar with the view on Scilla. It is very quiet, air conditioned. Super happy.

This hotel was built in the 1800s and was obviously once very grand. The large clean rooms have high ceilings, mine had a balcony, a desk and fridge, good lighting, wifi, heat and AC, as well as enough plugs for charging devices. There was a profuse amount of towels and toiletries and this generosity extended to the airy and welcoming breakfast room which is officially in action for a couple of hours every morning but is left accessible so that you can eat in there and not in your room. All communication and transactions were seamlessly done online. I met the gracious hostess Stefania at breakfast. The location is excellent as the train station is just around the corner and there is a very good cafe/ bar/ bakery/ bistro diagonally across from the hotel. Thank you
