Beautiful traditional home with a full kitchen, lounge and bath. Located right on the Nakasendo trail. Staff went beyond to assist me in my journey and walking plans as well as with food and facilities... all were amazing.

Just 40 metres from restored Edo-era post town Magome-Juku, Chaya Hotel has simple traditional rooms with futon bedding and a tatami-mat floor.

The modern touch was beautifully integrated into the old traditional feel of Magome. Very comfortable stay with a central location. The owner was kind enough to book us dinner for the night prior to our stay. If you are staying at this place, make sure to pre book your meal since dinner is not included and everything in Magome closes at around 5pm.

Such a beautifully designed and spacious home. We felt calm and ‘at home’ as soon as we arrived. Lots of space to spread out. And thoughtful modern furniture ( with Japanese style). Close to restaurants and the suggested local onsen in a campground was great! We are a family of four.
