Great place to stay for Koyasan with very friendly hosts and a good location to start exploring. There is also a restaurant in the same building which we recommend highly. And if you still need anything a Family Mart is just a brisk walk away.

The host is very nice to take care of our staying. Very nice vegan breakfast and dinner. Introducing the local activities which we can attend. Let us know the weather in case we can avoid the raining. Let us know the bus schedule. Anyway, im so appreciated what the host did....nice warmly coming house.

Fabulous experience here. We had a lovely ground floor room looking over the gardens. There is a lovely large pond with Koi carp, a little red bridge and walk up the hill through a few gates. Highly rate staying here.

Everything about our stay was just perfect. From being picked up at the train station, delicious homemade meals with records playing in the background, a beautifully appointed home, friendly and helpful hosts, riding through the countryside on electric bikes and being driven to & picked up from Koyasan. Such a special experience.

We loved the attention to detail, especially the vintage record player with Japanese vinyls and how well stocked the kitchen was (oil, spices, rice, coffee etc. - the best we had in Japan!). Staff was very accommodating. Very spacious, perfect for our group. We had to change the group size due to a mistake of our own and it was very easy to resolve, thank you for that. We had a great time!

Great location, within walking distance of everything in Koya-San. Big room, big shower, comfortable bed and nice breakfast (à la carte fresh sandwich + coffee, at preferred rate) at the coffee next door. The recommendations we received from the owner were a spot on, it made our stay in Koya-San very memorable!

We really liked the guest house hachi hachi. The host is extremely nice and gave us great information about the temples and hiking tours. The rooms are large and the mattresses are comfortable. Everything in the house is very well maintained and clean. The bus stop is only 100 meters from the guest house. It is easy to explore Koyasan on foot from the guest house. It is only about 5 minutes to the Famili Mart.

Located in Koyasan, Koyasan Shukubo Sainanin is a historic temple approximately 1100 years old and located 300 metres from Daimon Gate. All rooms features tatami (woven-straw) flooring.

Amazing experience. Food is very tasty, monks are friendly and helpful, the traditional japanese room has a great atmosphere and I find the japanese futon beds very comfortable. The onsen here is very nice. It was my first experience with onsen, so I can’t compare. I just wish there was more opportunity to learn about shingon buddhism and monks life.
