This was by far my favourite stay of my Japan trip. Not only was the guest house absolutely stunning and tastefully furnished, within very close proximity to the deer park, I was welcomed so warmly and it really felt like home for the night I was there. We had such an amazing time at Machiya no Yado Gu! The house gave us the feeling of traditional Japan, while being kitted out with all the modern amenities we could have wished for. Spacious, quiet, tastefully designed - and an unbeatable location a stone’s throw away from Nara park. Best of all, we had one of the most incredible hosts we’ve ever encountered. He went out of his way to generously help us every step of the way. Even drove us to the train station on his actual birthday! Can’t wait to be back!

It has everything you need and more for a perfect stay! There was no staff present but they were very responsive and kind through messaging. Free drinks and snacks in the common room. Wish I could have stayed longer, really felt like a home away from home! ♥️

There was a small private garden inside. The room was clean and tidy. Futon was comfortable. Kitchen was well equipped with cutlery and microwave. There were shops around. Nara park was walkable distance away.

We came a little late for check in, but the hosts still were waiting for us. So, kind people and nice atmosphere - that's the biggest plus of Nara Guesthouse Kamunabi. If we could, we would stay for a more long time in that place. Nice people there really made our time.
