The absolute loveliest stay I’ve had in Japan. What a delight the hosts are - Glenda is an absolute gem and the loveliest. She used to tour around Japan as a singer! If you’re lucky enough, you can get her to sing a bit for you. Her husband is an incredibly talented chef and cooked us a huge and wonderful dinner - probably the best food I’ve had in Japan. Strong recommend!

We loved the big ryokan-style room, the shower and toilets were very close to the room and incredibly clean. The location is perfect, a short walk from the samurai quarter and close to the center. The owners are incredibly nice and the food is excellent. A great place in Kanazawa!

I found the place great for exploring Kanazawa: you get an entire traditional Japanese house for yourself, in a quiet place despite being 20 minutes by foot from Kenroku-en garden and the castle, and at a very competitive price. It was extremely clean and I really enjoyed the atmosphere. Highly recommended!

The host is absolutely lovely, and both the property, as well as the surrounding area is absolutely beautiful. The refrigerator has two bottles of ice cold water stocked every day, and you have the option of buying multiple types of sake directly in your room. I definitely recommend eating at the recommended sushi restaurant, as it was absolutely delicious and very cozy. I wish we booked more days :)

Wanted to experience a machiya while visiting in Japan, and thought that Kanazawa would be the best place to do it. Ui-ca guesthouse exceeded my expectations—the house itself was very tidy, well-kept with updated fixtures, yet still retained all the charm of an older structure. Everything was beautifully decorated, and the house was so thoughtfully furnished—our family's stay was very comfortable. The host, too, was exceptionally kind and a wonderful communicator, offering to help us with our luggage (of which we had a lot) and even giving us a ride our first day out on her way home. Thank you so much for a great stay~~ next time I come to Kanazawa, would definitely love to stay here again!
