First and foremost, this property's location is just outstanding. felt like I was in my own private oasis, nestled among lush greenery with great mountains views. The tranquil settings provided the ideal setting for relaxation and unwinding from the stresses of daily life.

Best home stay in Sri Lanka. Room very comfortable and clean. The family was very welcoming and helpfull. The location is near the Buduruwagala temple and ellawala waterfalls.

We really enjoyed our stay. The room was lovely, the place was friendly and we had a great time. Great communication between Sam’s place and us before we travelled ensuring all our needs were met when we arrived. They were very helpful and provided us with information and recommendations for things to do in the area. I would recommend and we will be booking again soon. Thank you Sam!

We, my girlfriend and I, have experienced our stay as a wonderful journey. When we arrived, we were faced with a closed gate, but within seconds the owner arrived. After checking in, we entered the room – perfect! A nice big bed, a clean and spacious bathroom, air conditioning, Wi-Fi, and everything you could need! After having a little chat, the hotel owner asked about our plans. We mentioned that we came for the nature and tranquility, and without hesitation, he offered to show us around the area. This was the start of an experience we will never forget. 🙏 First, we went to a small waterfall, very local with no tourists – just some local youngsters hanging out who even offered us a beer. Then he took us to Diyaluma Falls – what a massive waterfall that was! He offered us lunch, which he had made himself! A sandwich we’ll never forget; it was incredibly delicious. Next, we visited Buduruwagala Rock Carvings, where the owner introduced us to Buddhism. The place was surrounded by nature – trees, plants, birds – pure enjoyment. We thought we were heading back to the hotel, but nothing could be further from the truth. We visited real monks, where we received blessings and a white bracelet from an elderly monk. They also offered us boiled corn – so tasty! After the visit, we continued back to the hotel. On the way, we ran into a friend of the owner, who invited us to their home. When we arrived, the whole family was there to meet us. What kind and friendly people! They offered us tea and chocolate biscuits, and my girlfriend even received a gift! It gave us such a happy feeling, something we will cherish forever. ❤️ Then it was time to head back to the hotel – or so we thought. Instead, we went elephant spotting! Yes, you read that right – real wild elephants! It got quite late, but we spotted several wild animals, including both a male and female elephant. This, too, will stay with us forever.

I had a big comfortable bed, in a nice clean room with a bathroom. I loved the peace and quiet as the place is surrounded by trees so you literally sleep in the middle of the forest. The host Michael is sweet beyond words. The moment I opened my door a mug of fresh hot coffee with some yummy pastries were waiting for me served on the sunny porch. I will be returning that’s for sure. Thank you Michael🙏

Very peaceful location into the greenary. Don't miss the sun rise just infront of your room. They served a Lovely Breakfast, it had a variety of options to choose. The staff really helpful and very friendly. Their hospitality made me feel like home. Highly recommended 👌

How much do you have to dislike your hotel for everything to be dirty?

The hosts take an enormous amount of care to make their guests are treated well and feel happy. On arrival we were greated with a pot of tea and advice about the area, where to eat and an offer to visit the famous cliff Buddha statues at Buduruwagala. Which are definitely worth the tuktuk trip. Water is always on tap. The Sri Lankan breakfast for 2 cooked by mama host would have been enough for 4. Wonderful! The place is a green oasis in the town centre. Even the shower water was cold from the hills towards Ella.

Lush in Ella is a brand new venue and a true hidden gem in the middle of the jungle. Yet it is very close to the center of the town. The owner Saman and her husband made us feel very special, especially pampering us with delicious homemade breakfasts. The room, bathroom, and balcony are very clean, the Internet works well, The washroom is spacious.
